  • My uncle was a INTNL man in the 50 and 60s. I can still recall all of them.

  • @bullsnutsoz Good man for a great brand. As a younger man, I drove a IHC 2 1/2 ton cargo van and it was quite a dependable workhorse. So, I agree with you and your uncle, that these trucks were sturdy, dependable, and reliable. Thanks for commenting.

  • anybody got a hood ornament and tailgate for one of these?

  • @dhamrick100 Any viewers can help with these parts? My suggestion is to try hemmings motor news online under IHC parts if you haven't already. Best of luck.

  • need it in this build. now remember the cabs mounts in the back/ they bolt on side of frame, and should line up with outside of chevy frame, bolt on your running board brackets and your driving,! oh yeah get a collom, I did my trans plant in one weekend, but I am a mechanic and built many trucks and cars before so there is alot more to think about then what I just told you. measure! measure! measure! and good luck. mine turned out stupidly fast ;)

  • @allenthepsycho You're just loaded with good advice for this truck. I really appreciate your imput and thanks for enjoying this IH truck.

  • if your running with a long box then you can a full frame, remember your back wheels have to line up, but for me, it was to cut 1 foot in center( under cab) and 1 foot off the back of the frame cause I had a short box with a 400 sbc & 400 trans 89 chevy frame, camero diff/ leefs. cut 1 1/2 coil in front and shorten bump stop on A arm about 1 1/2 and use chevy van front rims ( off set), cab bolts threw frame so cut off all brackers and cab mounts. save sum if you want but your not going to

  • @allenthepsycho This is really useful information for anyone working on a IH truck like this. This is not my truck although I wish it was. Thanks.

  • this is not rare, i have build two of them so far and there is lots more out there in Canada. 89 surbban frame fits very well under this truck

  • @allenthepsycho Well, they're rare around here. Must be plentiful in Canada. Thanks for viewing.

  • @allenthepsycho I have a 51 L110. What kind of effort would it take to change the frame?

  • Oh and it was a 1 ton with a 9 foot box :)

  • @Mapleleafpete Wow! A one ton with a nine foot bed. I bet thats rare. Good Luck.

  • Well i finally tracked down the fellow who owns the truck. The truck was sold 3 weeks ago but not a done deal yet.So i sit and wait, lol.I dont think i can afford it any how,he wanted 5k for it :(.But he did say he would make me a better deal if it was not taken by the other guy.He just wants it to go to a good home,it was his grand fathers truck passed to his father then to him.I got the whole history on the truck, very nice fellow, will keep you posted :)

  • @Mapleleafpete Well maybe it isn't sold. Not a done deal. Keep your fingers crossed, toes crossed, and eyes crossed. Maybe you'll win it yet! By all means keep me posted.

  • I just came back from looking at a 195? L130 3/4 ton and man is it in great shape, only rust on the truck is from the sun beating down on the paint. The truck is all original with 38k miles on it,im trying to find out who owns it,a friend told me it is for sale :) i sure hope he doesent want to much has it would be a cool truck to easaly fix up,,my dad had one and i remember him loveing that truck.

  • @Mapleleafpete Aren't these IH trucks cool? With 38k miles this is something very desirable and I'm sure it would be an easy fix. I don't doubt that your Dad loved his truck and it looks like others love this truck also. Look at the views this video has had. Best of luck to you and let me know if you buy this truck. Thanks for commenting.

  • I almost bought one of these for 300 bucks...i was gonna convert it to 4 wheel drive an make a work truck outta it

  • @OlChevysnvrdy 300 bucks? What a steal that would have been. It would still be a great workhorse. These Internationals are still head turners and generate a lot of interest. Check out how many views this video has had. Thanks so much for viewing and commenting on this rare truck.

  • nice ; i am a fan of international truck ; i also drove a few on the long haul between canada & usa east coast

  • @erickmwh Since I have driven IH trucks also I agree with you whole heartedly. Sturdy, dependable, easy maintenance. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

  • @erickmwh Sorry for late response. International trucks are very special. Driving these on long hauls must have been reliable and enjoyable. Thanks for commenting.
