I don't know much about the origin of this song. I would guess that since its title matches the name of the program, it may have been composed for this show.
I used to have a bootleg recording from the 60's where she talked about the song to the audience before playing it. As I remember it she said a Canadian TV-show had asked her to write and play something for them and so she did something with a clear message for the not-so-intelligent mainstream. Then she told the rest of the anecdote saying the show was horrible or something but I don't remember why that was
Okay Gamma, Since you posted both versions of this song (and no others apparently exist) if this is from a '67 performance by Joni why does the last credit plainly say CBC copyright 1968?
They can't be from the same time since her hair and make up are completely different. So which is which?
So is the other the '68 video (with the reverb sound processing) or is this one--which plainly says so at the very end? Or are they both from the same year?
Thanks for the clarification--I like the other better--do you suppose she did the song for that show only since it was never recorded anywhere else that I could tell?
Wow.

That's the way it is, you know you just see what you want to see.
Who am I to tell you how to think, or tell you who to be?
