@TheAlbinojew You have read correctly sir, the jog wheels cannot be used to scratch, however the 4D is scratch certified with traktor pro/duo. So if you spend some bucks and get some 1200s/1210s you'll be running like a beast :D

Some of us use it for more in depth uses like.. actual live sets... using all the midi controls... There are very few of those on youtube unfortunately

Hi, when I bought it, A&H doesn't give any software. I think actually is the same. Indeed you can use any software who work with MIDI protocol, like Traktor (any release), Virtual Dj, Serato or Ableton Live, just waste some time to assign any function to relative knob, slider or switch. Don't worry I'm not here to criticize, you look scared of your decks, you don't need to constantly be next to them. Maybe practise a lot more before you release a video that way you won't receive as many haters.

A Xone 4D is a powerful thing I know as I have one. Just relax and do your thing.

I'm italian, english isn't my language. Traktor's and 4D's manual wasn't in italian. Well - I'm having a hard time finding a comprehensive answer to a set up question I have so I'll ask here and see if anyone bites. I've been spinning on 3 1200's for @ 24 years now. After a 15 year club hiatus I wanna get back in. I do have skills so I am not a newbie, but am new to Traktor and the Xone 4d. I think the technology has caught up to what I've been trying to accomplish all along. Would Traktor / Xone 4d / MacBook work as a total set up for long mix / 4 deck mixing?

And does traktor allow you to pre beat map or do you have to rely on a sync algorythm for automated beat matches? I ask because I like to use a lot of of different source material / styles, some of which have wild pitch and pattern changes. Thanks to anyone for in advances any responses.

Traktor work fine on many styles, but I think it's no pretty good on old style, like Kool & the Gang, Chic... you know? ;), because drum parts are human played, with no precision like a drum machine...

Well - some would suggest that Serato handles this better, but Traktor claims they are working on this for the next release. I really want the 4 decks though. Honestly, I'm starting to really think critically about what direction to go. The Xone 4d w/ a mac just seemed like it would be highly mobile, and since every club is set up different now, that might be nice. Wild beats for the time being will require some work..

Hi, everything you ask is possible, but the jog wheel is very sensible, so you need practice to use it. Maybe you can expand the waveform on deck to feel better the vinyl mode. You can locate on the fly a lot of cue points, recall with a switch or, pushing another switch, search it with the jog... Hope you understand my poor english... Ciao

Hi, the case is the same created by ZOMO for the 3D model, fit almost well, you just put in the bottom of the case something for leveling the phone/mic plug to the little window in front of the case...

Mark - Mattlines401 is basically asking what do you use for "sync" button on the 4D and what do you use for time/pitch shift ( +/- speed for tempo). At least that's what I made out of it. Basically if you can map those to the 4D - since you can have over 100 combinations on the 4D just tell him you can map it to whatever you like, lol.

Hi, I just put - on the bottom of the 4D - any little circular fabric adhesive, the same used for the bottoms of the chairs... you know? So... the 4D is in the right height for the phone/mic inputs and controls...

*There is an Option in Traktor 3 to Set the BPM Range manually if it gets it wrong.... don`t know where it is in Pro.

If you go to the "grid" section under a deck, you'll notice that next to the calculated BPM displayed in grey, there are two small buttons; one of those is "x2" which immediately doubles the BPM for ya ;)

Just to verify (I'm looking at buying a 4D myself) you don't need any kind of audio interface with the 4D? Are the speakers connected directly to the 4D then and the 4D connected to the computer via MIDI?

The reason I ask is because the Native Instruments website makes it sound like you need the Audio 8/4 DJ.

Hi Drew, you need a USB cable to connect to mac/pc... NO MIDI CABLES... :D, the speakers are connected by XLR or RCA outputs... choose what you prefeer...

Yes, the jog can be used to scroll the tracks in the playlist, but... if you use the cue-shift key, you navigate into the track and choose the optimal cue point(s)...

Hi :D, don't worry!!! Just go to A&H website, check the 4D page and go to downloads and you find all you need, blank overlays, drivers, midi maps... I print it with an A3 printer, and with a good scissors I do all... :D after it I use a plastic laminator... have fun...
