Max speed on all tanks is limited anyway. So, acceleration is what matters. And unlike with cars, automatic gear box accelerates tank faster than manual. So in this particular example it is automatic gearbox of Leopard which wins the race. :)

@TheZortaw you do know the leopard-1s thickest armour point was 80?mm so it would be much faster plus the t-72 has much thickr armour and its not about speed its about skill and numbers
