  • I'm more into 60s soul, but every time this gorgeous song, which somehow made it on to my Ipod, comes on, I am simply lost. More of a song for my parents' generation, but I can't help it. This song throws me into emotional ecstasy. Oh, those lovely voices...

  • This song is from Gaston Rafael Perez. It is entitled "When the sun heats" (Cuando Calienta el sol)

  • For you, Dear Nicky. I LOVE AND MISS YOU SO, SO VERY MUCH! RIP.

  • BRAVO, BRAVO!!!!!

  • Luis Miguel - Cuando Calienta El Sol......;)

  • I just got a email from the girl I dated in high school. She's married & so am I but we still have fond memories of the 60's & this kind of music.

  • @johnetty73 You know not your history of music! This is the Ray Charles Singers! Ray Conniff recorded it, but this version is the original hit by the Ray Charles Singers. Thanks for the compliment!

  • Great old standard.....

  • Bella interpretacion oldies, me encanta este tema. Por cierto el sonido es similar a Ray Conniff, orquesta y coro...... No hablo ingles,,,,,, saludos desde Venezuela.

  • One of the great old standards.....

  • Got as high as # 3 on the Billboard charts...and reached # 1 on the Pop Standard charts for 4 weeks in June of 1964...right in the middle of Beatlemania...

  • Just an amazing arrangement of a great song, whether in Spanish or English-

  • This hit by The Ray Charles Singers was the 41st #1 song on Billboard's newly formed chart that is now known as the Adult Contemporary charts.

  • I noticed Ray Charles Singers released 2 albums in 2011. I can't believe this song was not on them. Over 100,000 views on u tube and they don't include it? One of the best songs ever in my view.

  • @Rockabuy2002 - Hello. I'm with you! How could a Ray Charles collection not include this gem? While there are some wonderful solo versions, Mr. Charles recognized a group rendition does it best. I hope you have, or will, find someone who you can love "with every beat of your heart." I did. Best Wishes.

  • @Rockabuy2002 - I'm with you! How could a Ray Charles collection not include this gem? Wonderful solo versions out there, but I think a group is best for this tune. I hope you have, or will, find someone you can love "with every beat of your heart." I used to dream about that - and it happened (Silver Wedding Anniversary last year). Best Wishes to you.

  • I'm fifteen and I love listening to this music. Especially the Four Seasons.

  • @SooperSpeshalSkwad Bless your heart!

  • @3104Thomas I have to answer you, I to have been troubled by this since I was twenty I left a girl that I loved to answer the call of the wild, thats the best and most honest way I can discribe it, Im nearly 60 now and still I now that I made the biggest mistake of my life

  • @SooperSpeshalSkwad You've got good taste for a 15 year old!!!

  • Beautiful!!

  • Lovely!

  • after 14 yrs joel i love you more & more each day

  • Everytime I hear this beautiful song, I am taken back to 1964 and Sangley Point,

in the Philippines. I can still see the Jeepneys and the palm trees, and the lovely girls doin' the limbo. Thanks for the memories and the post.

  • This song is one of the greatest! I was 18 at the time and I remember playing this song over and over and over!

  • I loved Kathy, dance with her to this song many times . But she and her folks were killed in plane crash in Beaumont, 1968 Thanks for the post Tremendous music

  • The most beautiful love song ever recorded. I was 19, had a new Plymouth convertible, had started going with my future wife and all was bliss. What kind of music do kids in love listen to anymore? So sad it's what it is now. To them this kind of music is so old fashioned.

  • @smokingolejerry I agree, Joe!

  • @smokingolejerry I agree also!

  • @smokingolejerry You are so right! This is the most beautiful love song ever recorded! I was 18 going on 19 in 1964 when this came out. Oh, the wonderful memories! Yes, it is so sad as to the state of today' music. I am so glad I grew up when I did!

  • love it, love the christian faith, but not the republican liberty college

  • Adoro esta música, tantas recordações boas que voltam....oh! tempo volta prá trás....

  • wheni here this it reminds me how much i love my wife

  • I woke up with this song in my head. Thanx for posting. Just one thing: Didn't you mean "Ray Conniff Singers" ? ;)

  • @videogirl72 At first, I thought it was the Ray Conniff Singers also, but really is The Ray Charles Singers. I wouldn't mind hearing the Ray Conniff Singers version. Regardless, it's just such a spectacular song and version.

  • @videogirl72

No, as far as I know, The Ray CONNIFF Singers never did this song.(I looked extensively at a Conniff discography and this song does not appear on any of his albums) This is indeed the Ray CHARLES singers, and this is their signature tune. It's a totally different Ray Charles from the famous soul singer.

THIS Ray Charles is white and is sighted(not blind) and was in the business LONG before brother Ray.

The Johnny Mann Singers did a soundalike version of this song

  • @cmulwee001 wow! that's amazing I didn't even know there was another Ray Charles out there, the strangest thing is I woke up that morning with that tune in my mind I was sure it was Ray Conniff singers I looked it up and found it under Ray Charles. Just one of those weird coincidences I guess ;)

  • @videogirl72

Yes there was and is another Ray Charles out there, Though not as well known as his soul legend namesake, he was no less talented. THIS Ray Charles was born Charles Raymond Offenberg , and was the musical consultant for programs like The Perry Como Show and The Muppet Show. Ray's own voice was heard on the

"Three's Company" Theme(yes that's who it is!). He had been forever credited on TV show in which he was involved, as, The 'Other' Ray Charles.

  • Very old fashioned song, holding countless memories in a time I shall never forget.

  • Hermosa cancion de los Hermanos Rigual "Cuando calienta el sol"

  • i remember hearing this song, 1964, the day my family moved to another home. i was 9 yrs old, woke up crying, because i didn`t wanna move, and my aunt was consoling me, and this song came on the radio! that was the last time i heard this song till now! thanks to you tube & amazon.com. as i got older, i went to thoudsands of record stores, looking for this song, and no could help me, until 3 yrs ago, and this dj told me who it was, and i searched yrs for this song, and now, got it from amazon

  • This is lovely, it takes my soul for a trip to my youth,I do miss my youth they say not to but they are wrong,

  • love it very much,, thanks..

  • The very most beautiful love song of all times. So much feeling involved. I love it just as I did back in the 60's. How is it possible that kids nowdays can't appreciate this kind of music?

  • I LOVE HER WITH ALL OF MY HEART AND 15 YEARS LATER I AM SAYING IT AGAIN.

SHE IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND I WILL LOVE HER FOREVER.

  • Thanks YOU parsonrobert for uploading this beautiful song! I have subscribed to your channel.

  • @krghpwi Well God bless you! I truly hope that it is a blessing to you!

    ParsonRob

  • That was the beauty of Top 40 radio back then, the amazing variety of music that was played on the air! And in the same year, Dean Martin made it to number one past the Beatles, with "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime."

  • The nostalgia...the emotions that this rendition, and the one by Agnetha Faltskog, stir...just overwhelming...

  • @krghpwi Thank you for the nice compliments!

  • Cuando caliente el sol"?

  • How could anyone think that a professional group would sing flat and the studio not pick it up? That is part of the wonderful harmony of this song.

  • Amazing. Smack in the middle of the British Invasion, with the Beatles seemingly taking over the Hot 100 charts singlehandedly, here came this one, which made to it to #3 in August of 1964

  • @joseph60us Yes I grew up with the Beatles,I was born in 51, I was lucky that my brother who was eight years older loved this kind of music he had a reel to reel tape recorder so when I came home from school I would listen to his music.

  • This was a "Top Ten" hit, (on rock stations!), in around summer 1964. A very special piece indeed - thanks for posting this!

  • This recording was marketed in a unique way - partnered with radio stations in some major markets to create spinoff localized versions. In Cleveland, it was KYW-1100 and the resulting record was called "Cleveland Love Song." If anyone has access to a copy and can post it, I know there are a lot us of old Clevelanders who'd "love" to hear it.

  • Man what a beatiful song!

  • A Classic Favorite - Songs like this helped me overcome the ill effects of a very violent, UNloving home. It gave me hope. Now, I have a WONDERFUL HUSBAND WHO LOVES ME WITH ALL HIS HEART AS I LOVE HIM. We're passing this along to our 2 beautiful children who we also love with every beat of our hearts. We still recall hearing theirs (in the womb) for the first time. Excellent artwork accompanying this. Thanks for posting! Peace & Love To ALL.

  • Thanks for the response, isn't u tube great! gotta love it!

  • Great rendition, I love it,. But I can't believe how flat and how out of tune the guys are at the 0:28 mark. Yikes! did no one catch this. Yeah I know, I'm nit picking. it's still a great song.

  • @derekjref Interesting, I listened to it over and over again, and I hear it too! Oh well, still a great song, like you said!

  • @parsonrobert

PS. I had to keep playing that part over and over again. It would be easy to miss, unless you are a professional, I would guess.

Now personally, I like Agnetha Faltskog's version of it! But this is the most famous one we all grew up with!

    I did her's up top!

  • @derekjref Guess what. They are not flat. That is how the music is written

  • Love this song. Hear it first as a kid and never knew who did it. I too thought it was Ray Conniff! Thanks for posting it. The lyrics still hold true today if you really in love!

    JS

  • the lyrics and the backgrounds are so wonderful.....

  • Great tune....yes, The Ray Charles Singers backed up Perry Como for many years...they were a wonderful marriage.

  • A wonderful message to all of creation!;-))

  • Led by Ray Charles, this group 's name was given by Perry Como to them. Popularized this song in 1964.

  • @nancyfloressantos Thanks for that added information nancy!

    parsonRob

  • Thank you for this great song and the wonderful video !!!!!!!!

  • I have googled this song many times including the Spanish version called Cuando Calienta El Sol. The Ray Charles Singers and Ray Conniff Singers both sing this song, but THIS rendition is by The Ray Charles Singers. Songs don't get anymore beautiful than this. I have listened to this song MANY times, and I keep hitting replay. At 1:25 they start to sing "Whennnnn we are far apart..." it's a great crescendo, and it's just beautiful! Great Harmony. Thanks Rob for posting. God Bless you!

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr

Based on a Spanish language song, I didn't know that. I DO know that the first English version was by a vocal group known as The Newports. That version is just okay, vocals are rather weak. this remake is a thousand times better!

  • @cmulwee001 I agree with you. This version is about the best version I've ever heard. I've heard Anacani, from the Lawrence Welk Show, sing it in English and in Spanish. At least, I think it was her, and she did a very nice job. I've looked for this version on napster, and it's not on there. They have other music by the Ray Charles Singers, but I'm looking for this song. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! God Bless!

  • This sounds so much like the Ray Conniff Singers..are there any members they both used? Wonderfully done,,RWB

  • @rwb010109 You need to Google it, and let the rest of us know.

    Thanks,

    parsonRob

  • Theese singers are special. I'm so glad their recordings are preserved.

  • Thank you very much. These songs by Ray Charles Singers are the songs I was waiting to hear again for ages...

  • Thank you for the upload.. 5/5

  • I loved her with all my heart..then she said adios..I never loved like that again and that was 1964....

  • @lnefouse

couldnt have said it better lost mine in 2009 and never will love again not worth a broken heart

  • I fell in in love the first time listening to this song.

  • @jadegreenkaty

    so did i jade!

  • That's all I want dear......."love me with all your heart......". Wonderful song.

  • Dave here. Don't suppose this is the same Ray Charles of "I'll Never Stop Loving You" fame? This is a great song!

  • Thanks for the comments. No, this is not the 'Ray Charles' of 'Hit the Road Jack'!

But you're right, it is a great song!

    ParsonRob

  • I've missed the Ray Charles Singers. They seemed to get frequent play back in the fifties. Thanks for your contribution.

Merry Christmas! Live long & prosper! \\ // _ Dave F. (Lived on Myrtle Av.)

  • Legionario1970: thanks for the comment. Just in the anecdotal side: the composer of Bésame mucho (recently defunct Consuelo Velázquez) said she was fifteen when made such beautiful song. Also, Alberto Domínguez wrote Frenesí in 20 minutes (he said so). By the way, he also wrote Perfidia, another international hit. Last, I always knew that My Way was Written by Paul Anka. Was I wrong?

  • "My Way" is an English version of a French song. The English lyrics were written by Paul Anka and popularized by Frank Sinatra on his album My Way. The melody is that of the French song "Comme d'habitude" composed by Claude François and Jacques Revaux. Anka's English lyrics are unrelated to the original French by Claude François and Gilles Thibaut.

    ParsonRob

  • The guys hit "whennnNNNN we are far apart...." at 1:26, for the best moment in this beautiful song. In the hands of the Ray Charles Singers, it's as good as it GETS ....

  • I agree, it really takes off from there!

  • I think this is the Ray Coniff Singers

  • I heard this song yesterday and it brought back feelings and memories I hadn't felt for many years. As a child growing the 50's and 60's, I remember songs like this being played on my AM radio (many of them I didn't care much for at the time). As the oldest of 9 kids, we never had it easy but we had it pretty good. Good in a way that songs like this remind me of the love shared by my mom and dad. God wired us in a way that we forget much of the bad while remembering mostly the good.

  • I still have these old 45's from my parents. I'm 51 and grew up with rock and roll but still treasure these songs from my folks time. thanks so much for posting.

  • Very nice, mellow song. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for the nice comments. Definitely one of the great "Love Songs" of all time!

    ParsonRob

  • Thanks so much for posting this wonderful song and arrangement by some very talented singers. When you said "I trust you will enjoy this one!", that trust was well placed.

  • Thank you very much for your comment, It is a blessing to my heart to know people are blessed!

    ParsonRob

PS. That goes for the rest of you, as well!

  • Wonderful video to this great hit song by the Ray Charles Singers. This is the talented Ray Charles, not the groaner. Charles often worked with Perry Como.

  • One of the few foreign songs where the English lyrics are better than the romance language lyrics. Great music, great lyrics and great arrangement.

  • for lovers everywhere...a fanatastic song

  • Awsome awsome awsome!

  • Maybe not all of you know that the original song of this marvelous cover was written by a cuban team "The Rigual Brothers" by the name of "Cuando Calienta el Sol" (When the sun is warm), but I agree with Mr Trashcan1: this is the hit.

  • Jose,

Thanks for the added input and info. on this great song. Much appreciated! I also would like to hear it by the Cuban singers!

    ParsonRobert

  • You're right Jose, actually there are some famous covers in english which have been big hits in the U.S. but were originally composed in

    Latinamerica or Europe like:

    BESAME MUCHO(Mexico)

    IT'S IMPOSSIBLE (Mexico)

    FRENESI (Mexico)

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES (Mexico)

    MY WAY (France)

    Etc.

  • @LEGIONARIO1970 And also the beautiful Mexican song of farewell "la Golondrina" written in 1835 by a Mexican in Europe, itwas a big hit in Endlish as " She wears my ring" or Solamente una Vez " You Belong to My Heart" ( Mexico?)

" Cuandoi Caliente El sol" ( Love me With All of Your Heart" .

Yo prefiero las canciones en español, cuando canto a mi dama o bailar con ella a ellos, se derrite!) Hola y buena suerte a todos en México de George en Escocia.

  • a great song I always loved....Blessings Annie

  • For those of you don't already know, this is a completely different Ray Charles than the famous R&B singer. This Ray Charles

is a white guy who can see, He composes many television scored. His own voice was heard on the "Three's Company" theme song.

  • A more contemporary picture of Ray Charles & his group, is at the 1:28 timeline!

  • One of my favorites for all the right reasons...

  • This is an absolutely beautiful video....Thanks for putting it on YT..

    kay..

  • bloody beautiful !!

  • ♫♥ Another great presentation of this song. I love the version of Agnetha, but I also love this one too!! There's always a romantic song to get you!!!!♫♥

  • Yea, I agree about Agnetha, she does a superb job!!!

    ParsonRob

  • I was senior in high school when this came out...You don't love like you loved when you were that age......do you??

  • There have been many versions, but this was the hit. One of my favorites growing up. Thanks for posting. Check out my posting of Al-Di-La, their follow up to this.

  • I absolutely LOVE this song...even when I was 11 years old in 1964 I loved this song!!! Great CD too!!! Bravo!!!!!

  • Great song and great presentation!!!!! WAY TO GO Parson!!!!!!!!! My wife and I LOVE it!
