toe outcome will not change if we point out that a Medical doctor that does not believe in evolution in the face of an evolving virus or bacteria is 100 times more insane than us regular folks who do not have a blood lust for killing the federal reserve. ;-)
from my time on the internet i got the feeling of similarity and interaction between real life here and the "matrix", i think alot of people got the same feeling
Romney's a genuinely nice guy, but all of his Mitt-flopping on like 95% of the issues reflects his deep disrespect for politics/people. Politics is dirty and you gotta lie in some unsavory way to be in the arena. But there's got to be at least one kernel of truth that wakes you up every day beyond naked ambition. Romney's only in it for the prestige (not even the power). I think the quote goes: "Don't ask who let thy dogs out, lest they come to bite thee."
is over FOR Ron paul i dont think must of you stupid americans are ready for a leader like him hey RON we can sure take someone like you in my country sry americans
the country is Sweden number one heath care and social security nation in the world we are also ranked 3 in education in develop countries and we are 100 % dependent free of Arabian oil and when we vote 89% of the citizens actually show up to vote thats why i say you Americans will never have the brains to see a good leader like rp when u see it is just shame really
Actually, Swedes have far fewer chances to elect their leaders than do Americans. Just consider the last time you elected a mayor. Never happened, huh? Elections only every four years means more people who actually take the time to vote when elections are held so rarely.
Concerning oil imports, Sweden is heavily dependent on Russian oil. How much fun is that?
A leader like Ron Paul wouldn't have any influence in Sweden because the population is so heavily socialist. He could never be elected.
The country of Sweden is roughly the size of California, it's population is roughly 9 million compared to the 36 million in California. The country of Sweden is also a Constitutional Monarchy which means it's half monarchy, half democracy. So it seems to me that there really is no comparison between Sweden and the United states. We are free minded society and that means much much more minds to satisfy.
spzoey, I don't think it's fair to say that Sweden is "half monarchy, half democracy". While the monarch is actually the head of state, he is largely just a figurehead without any real influence over policy. All the real political power comes from the parliament where the people is represented by political parties (more or less) in proportion to the popular vote.
claytongault: Well, figuratively yes. Not to be taken literally of course. I clearly understand the monarch is there for "symbolical" purposes. But you can't compare America and Sweden. The figurative counterpart of the monarch here is the Executive Branch, which is 1 of 3 branches here in our structure of government which it's purpose is to keep the other in checks and balances.
On another note, I like Sweden, I think it's a beautiful country one that I want to someday visit.
spzoey, the Swedish monarch can't really be compared to the Executive Branch, because the monarch has no authority to execute policy. He's more like a spokesperson for the country, going to extreme lenghts not to say anything that may be considered even remotely controversial to any citizen.
In Sweden, the parliament is supposed to keep the government in check, but that doesn't really work since the government is chosen by the parliament, so there's no real checks and balances to speak of.

Doesn't matter. Anyone even thinking about
voting for a Republican after the mess that
is staring them in the face after 8 years
of GWB needs their head examined. Save
what's left of America, don't vote Repuklican!
The entire party is basically walking into
a brick wall over and over and then telling
you the wall isn't there...

Exactly, that is why there is no point in comparing the two. Apples and Oranges my friend, Apples and Oranges.

Oh please. Ron Paul can be right on a point or two when it comes to foreign policy, that doesn't make him qualified enough to be president.
