It's amazing the hatred you're getting for this video. I'm a white American that taught world cultures and human geography for 5 years in Houston, Texas, and I would get this sort of international ignorance from people all the time. I also speak Mandarin Chinese and am currently living in Taiwan. This is my third time here for a total of 5 years so far. I don't know how many times I've been asked about Thailand. Not all Americans are this ignorant, but some definitely are.

I can explain this. In other countries people are taught not to open their mouths on things they are ignorant about. In the States schools teach kids about "self esteem", which means that is hammered in until they've got a whole lot of teens and grown ups thinking they know everything because their "self esteem" has convinced them that. And even if they later learn they were wrong, they don't give a damn because those things are "useless knowledge" anyway.
An american girl friend of mine who actually thought muslim women were oppressed and all those idiotic things she got from US media brainwashing actually accepted an invitation from a Muslim woman in Saudi Arabia and after visiting the country, she came back realising that Western women are the ones who were really opressed. Muslim women r actually protected, respected and taken care of like an angel. Why else do we NOT have high rates 4 babies born out of wedlock, drugs, alcohol etc? like u do?
