  • my home :/

  • Run Away! Run Away!

  • Godzilla?

  • Here's an idea: turn off the camera, start the boat, and GTFO of there!

  • I'm a volcano and I found this halarious

  • And they want us to pay Carbon Tax ??? pffft they really think us humans are that dumb

  • Did he died?

  • Nice Black Smoke !!!

  • Wow! That's the kind of thing where, if I was in the water, I'd start doing a little wee as my mind imagined what was going on in the dark depths under my feet. Getting ready to do some turbo swimming

  • Thats what I call dynamit fishing ;)

  • Free lobster night!

  • My God

  • i don't understand why the water around the confligration is so calm. i would think the surrounding waters should be disturbed.

  • .........wow

  • Its not global warming... this is how islands are made

  • looks like the gulf is next for these events but worse

  • Earth came

  • I wouldn't hauled out of there. that's gas is poisonous.

  • it was probably a tourist trip taking them TO the erupting volcano in the first place.

It's hard to tell how close they actually are. Might have been safe.

  • People really need to wake the hell up in geology class and realize that the world is constantly changing. Food for though, if the plates werent colliding the entire world would be under water. Its only from this collision that land mass stays above water.

  • why don't we hear anything ??? Blast sound ???

  • wow

  • Fucking hell, what if they'd been right over it when it erupted?!

  • @AtomikSpongeface then propably we wouldn't know it and you know the exact reason why

if you think about it its the same thing as in the bermuda triangle no one knows what there is cause no one survived going through there

  • does the water get hot and is the black stuff coming up water?

  • they shouldnt get so close, they could suffocate in the ash in the clouds get near them

  • I'd shit my pants with excitement and some fear. That looks bad ass.

  • co2 isnt the worst gas. Ever hear of sulpher? methane? mhmm they are the worst, and the two largest sources of both gases? Volcanoes and bov/equine species.

  • Comment removed

  • Btw...... does any body knows.......... how much Area this Eruption covered on the Sea..... my guess would be that this eruption might have covered around 10 sq. miles of area on Water........ wat u guys think....???

  • @arktheball

Methane doesn't come from volcanoes, and sulfur also comes from the burning of fossil fuels.

  • omg t is 2 volcanos huge!!!!!!!! that earth made it all the way up past water thn into air that high. so powerful

  • it's GOJIRA!!!!!!!

  • Funny.... um... that ain't smoke... its ash... and the stuff coming over the surface of the water is called a lahar.... that's an ash avalanche... and they can move at hundreds of miles per hour... they are so lucky that the volcano just didn't decide... hmmm, I think I'll let off some real steam today.... and kill them all.... actually, I kind of wish that happened... make for a better video.

  • You're a fucking tool, you know that? Get a life, "Patriot".

  • They say we polute the air? Ha! Thers more gases ther than we produce!

  • Ironic that its on the Guardian website. I guess they are saying that volcano is emitting sugar candy and big bad USA-san people are killing the planet single-handedly. Cough-China_building-one-coal-fired-power-station-a-week-Cough.

  • Actually it's quite the opposite. They certainly have some effects, but we produce about 150 times more CO2 than volcanoes.

The CO2 monitoring stations around the world register a smooth increasing trend instead of clear spikes for each eruption.

Regarding other gases, you can read more here (remove spaces):

    volcanoes. usgs. gov/ hazards/ gas/ index. php

  • I vividly remembered that we were having class in sch when the teachers start saying "pack your bags, early dismissal, go home now!" In every corner of Suva, Fiji is was crowded with people as all were trying to reach for higher grounds, warning was issued by DISMAC Fiji in case of a tsunami caused by the eruption in Tonga. That preparation tested how fast the govt of fiji and DISMAC responds to natural disaster. It was a chaos. Now they are prepared and have a plan they can follow into.

  • Holy freaking crap... That's incredible... And scary. Can you imagine if you had been in a boat over that when it went off? I mean, is there any warning something like this will happen?

  • MENTAL

  • beautiful colours @_@

  • wow preety big

  • your pretty stupid if u think its fake it was on the news dumass

  • im i think there is no waves coz the underwater volcano is not deep enough, and the tsunami waves wouldnt be that big close to the explotion.

just like thailand cathastrophy, none of the fisherman noticed anything until they went back to the coast

  • isnt it BAD for them to be around that area..?? AHA

  • the people who fimd this survived? damit!

  • it aint FAKE!

i have families in tonga who saw it from the main island even though it was like near the other islands like haapai i fink

  • did it form an island there?

  • wow!!! this is really amazing....how lucky the cameraman was, it will be once in a life time experience....

  • Wouldnt there be waves?

  • if i was unaware that was a volcano below...and i saw this..... i would runn so fuckinhard

  • How this does not cause massive tsunami like waves?? I will never know.

  • It isn't big enough.

  • what if the ocean is like one big fridge keeping the globe in check.

now the water is getting hotter and there are many more eruptions going on.

it seems like a pretty good idea that the ocean is what is keeping the globe cool and now warming by only a few degrees may cause more eruptions. it has been 9000 years since the last eruption in chile and this massive under water one in tonga. it seems like its not a coincidence that it is happening during the so called global warming,,

  • dude, global warming has nothing to do with the magma movements under the lithosphere, it would have to get more than 200 degrees for around a month to be making change to the volcanoes

  • a month after Bobby Jindal criticizes funding for volcano monitoring, two huge eruptions take place... this and Mt. Redoubt...sucks for him.

  • UR ALL FAGS.. YOU NO LIFE FAGGETS

  • nature at its finest

  • This is not fake It was on BBC News last week

  • nice to see Tonga growing..

  • WAT IS HE SAYING AT 0:20 of this video?

  • woohaa!

  • I was fishing here and then I saw bubbles and smoke so I reved my engine and took off!! the boat behind me didnt make it as i saw his boat get tossed 50 feet in the air and occupants screaming as they were cooked in the steaming water.

  • aye masii that sounds kinda close tho... LOL! Good One....

  • OMEGAWD! its the end of the world!!!! :O

  • Jesus christ how did that not create a tsunami

  • yeah how didn't it create it...its suppose to

  • Tsunami's are caused by earthquakes when they either lift or drop a part of the ocean floor creating a depression or ridge and then pushing the water in the opposite direction. This volcano did displace water, but in the sense that it was pushed straight up and out by explosions. Kind of like when they did the nuclear tests underwater. Also a certain amount is turned to steam due to extreme heat.

  • It is a localized event close to the surface - It doesn't displace as much water as a deeper seismic event would.

  • Still, to break through even 100 yards of water and to still get that high in the air is pretty amazing.

  • nature is sooo cool but deadly

  • jazzy

  • I dont know about you guys, but i would be driving the boat away a lot faster than these guys are. I've visited Kilauea in Hawaii at night... the red glowing in the cracks on the hardened lava was enough to worry me.

  • Stop saying this is because of global warming etc. It wasn't a suprise, this volacanoe is part of the ring of fire which makes up 75% of the worlds most active volcanoes.

  • oh no the worlds coming to an end already!! And i havent even fucking become a rockstar yet!

  • dude, according to the mayan calendar, the world is gonna end on my 18th birthday.

i think that that means i'm supposed to rule everything

  • OhHhhh haha. shame on yuuu ! !

  • All hail SPARTAN118mj!!!!!!

  • after sxephil takes over kansas, he's gonna help me take over canada, and defeat the robot nazis who are also zombies

  • lol no...

  • ok all the poeple who said this is fake are stupid, but whatever... It looks kinda impressive! I would've given a lot to see that!

  • looks like bomb blast

  • Love it when he said; " get us started up ", as were that a real pryoclastic cloud, by the time he seen it that close, it would have had him, duh, as they travel around 300 to 400 MPH, duh.

Donno what it was, but not a underwater volcano.

  • PEOPLE ITS NOT FAKE WATCH THE NEWS [whatch befor u judge dammies]

  • Fake!!! Simpsons did it!!!

BTW this is probably how the "monster" in LOST was created. (You have to admit the CGI used in LOST looks almost like this)

  • cik smuki:)

  • wait wait who is numb nutz?

  • i know ppl in tonga i talked to them and it is as real as it gets!! there was a huge earth quake with it!!! bend over i'll show you fake!!!

  • fake?wtf

  • It's not fake... get out more.

  • god ur an idiot

i fuckin sed fake? as in how is it fake u fucking asshole

  • Well nobody can tell what the fuck you're trying to say with that horrible grammar of yours.

  • fuck u asshole

maybe if u werent a retard queer u would have none wut i meant

  • Fuck me? Not now you pervert. :P

  • god i hate u so much

    fine then, fuck urself

  • Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!

  • Hey look! A distraction!

  • what? where?!

  • *runs away after stealing your wallet*

  • hmm my wallets missing... luckily it was cursed and is basically pandora's box and will bring hell to anyone who opens it

  • : (

  • If you found yourself in any event like this, the wise thing one should do, is to avoid fleeing towards land... near to the shore, is where the tsunami is bound to break the surface of the ocean

  • JAJAJA!

    Fake! yeah! jajaja!

  • Beautiful, Adventurous, but very dangerous! They are lucky to be alive.

They could have been killed. A tsunami may have jet under them because they were over deep water. As the water becomes more shallow, the wave would have become visible, especially, anyone nearing the shoreline.

These people just love to play the game, Russian Roulette with mother nature.

    Again, beautiful, but very dangerous!

  • Amazing!

  • thats fantastic!!!

  • it looks so freaking fake.... but it was on the news

    so yea

  • Never seen anything like this before. Very interesting to see power of nature.

Those retards got relatively close to the epicenter of eruption. They brave tourists.

  • lol catfish4975 " steam is belching out. clearly a weapon " that of course must mean its a weapon, it has nothing to do with the fact that hot magma and water are mixing together combining

  • Thanks, I've never seen anything like this before.

  • intense

  • Are you retarded?

  • Where did you get such sensitive information?

  • this has nothing to do with global warming, people. polluted air doesnt effect vocanoes

  • Can you do it again? This time hold the camera steady...

  • Amazing

  • Yeah and you're actually a numb nuts

  • So, "Underwater nuclear detonation" will blast for days, almost a week? How far did you go in school?

That blast happens to be one of, over thirty active volcano at Tonga Island.

  • Well thats clearly what you believe. A chain reaction in a nuclear reactor goes on for years, even decades, so I guess a week isn't really that hard to conceptualize. If you look closely you can see the steam belching out. Clearly a weapon, not nature.

  • Stop embarrassing yourself.

Littoral explosions like this are not so uncommon and easily caught on Hawaii.

  • I guess SteveB3000 is right; You are a Numb Nutz. :|

  • Any tsunamis associated with this eruption? It doesn't look like it.

  • it would've been awesome to see it face to face.

  • No its just a natural thing to happen volcanos errupt all the time u plum.

  • LOL, Jesus's second cuming!

But he is kind of right because it's just a metaphor. It means that we are destroying our planet and the end of humanity is 'near', IMO. But I don't know if this eruptions have anything to do with global warming or polution.

  • Yeah we are the disease of earth.
