  • One of the best DIY dolly systems I have come across,

  • @RedSpectrumPictures Yeah, try it out.

  • The guitar is off key from the other instrumentation. It's flat.

  • check my channel and subscribe

  • i think the easiest way do to it is use skateboard

  • you should use that rubber band like you did in the "simple camera trick" :)

  • I see some people saying skateboard...personally i rollerblade and I dounf a way which i foudn works smoother than the skateboard,I got 2 rollerblade frames with 2 wheels on each and taped them together in the middle so they are parallel to eachother (inline wheels tend to be alot softer than skateboard wheels,so they roll with less friction) then i simply glued a screw that fits the camera threads to the frames and put the camera in between, works well,i didnt do it for use,I was just bored.

  • This + Smoothcam in Final Cut Pro = Perfect!

  • HACKSAW!!!

  • It seems like a couple heavy duty rubberbands would be smoother than the cable tie.

  • warp stabilizer

  • What music plays at 1:09?

  • Use a rubber band to drag it with to make it even more smooth. (:

  • wheres the gorilla?

  • Nice idea! Try to use a rubber band instead of a rope to pull the camera. The rubber absorbs shakes! :D

  • what camera is that ?... awesome idea

  • @haydthenation HVX200

  • its superb,,,!!!!

  • i been racking my brain for the last few years wishing i colud pull off those kind of shots...NOOOOWW????? CHAPPY..THANX A MILLION!!!

  • plz tell me the name of the editing software you used !!!!

  • @mussiab Final Cut Pro

  • sweet!!

  • hello! great idea what type of camera do you have? if you don't mind me asking

  • i prob could make a better dolly under 13% or less T.T this has too much lil mini movements, slow, and isnt really constant

  • Ghetto but clever... when money is an issue the more clever person will get the job done.

  • @Refused2Break I prefer calling it guerilla instead of ghetto. But yeah, this works.

  • nice! :)

  • I prefer my dolly. Here's how to do it in a few easy steps:

    1) Buy a Bugatti Veyron

    2) Duct tape your $250 small chip camcorder to it

    3) Drive around at 200+ MPH

    4) Screw everything else, you have a Bugatti Veyron. Who cares wtf you're filming?

  • @AdamLPhotography but can you do it for under $13 ? lol

ill try the same method except with a Saleen S7 Twin Turbo :) i dont like the look of the Bugatti's front grill

  • Comment removed

  • hmmm yes very shaky...it's better use some kind of wheels

  • Unfortunately the resulting footage is VERY shaky.

  • tip: use something elastic to drag camera - move will be more smooth

  • this is really cool, building wooden supports would be even better for location shots where a folding table isn't available

  • $13? Great improv!

  • this is like extremely ghetto.

  • This video Reminded me that my grandfather is a Model Train Collector, I might be able to use some train tracks and a broken model train:)

  • good idea, i think i'll try and make something like this out of household objects.

  • Can you add some kind of motor to make it move at a steady pace?

  • I've used lego train tracks for smaller camcorders. Pretty cool stuff.

  • @FlukeyFilms Awesome idea man.

  • why not use a skateboard? everyone has one and the result would be better

  • @roki92 Try using a skateboard on grass, sand, or dirt and you will have a different opinion.

  • @matttchapman i know man! but you could use the table ass u do with this one

  • @roki92 That is true, but i just used the table as a demonstration.

  • Interesting, but you could have easily just placed a felt pad under your camera, attached a rope to the pad, and done just the same without so much fuss.

  • @sweetlikeADAM Not true. A felt pad won't provide a elevated surface and the table would be seen in the shot. Especially with a wide frame or prime lens. Already tried that. Also, a felt pad would would not work over a lot of flat surfaces like carpet for example.

  • you know where i can get one for cheap

  • what camera is that one

  • @lazarotheboss123 Panasonic HVX200

  • i thought there was a gorilla :(

  • I use my skateboard. but this is effective

  • This is RELLY good! thank you alot!!!! =)

  • If i had flat surface i would use a skateboard

  • little shaky, but for 13$ its ok

  • Looks great!

A little idea; instead of using a cushion to support the camera, maybe something a little more solid? With the cushion comes movement, like the little wiggle you can see. If you have a solid mount you should be as smooth as your pull can provide.

Cant wait to make my own!

  • If you have ever seen "Anthony Bordains No Reservations" The used a Gurrilla style Pan shot for a dining scene using a Skate board and some books.

  • sikk!!!

  • Double the length or the actual lead that you are pulling and you should get it even smoother.

  • sweet man :D

  • Awesome thanks! I'm making one :D

  • @StopAnimOtion Nice!

  • where did you get the music that is at the end?

  • @kimosis004 The music is from digital juice.

  • @kimosis004 thx

  • I can't thank you enough for this vid. Its so simple. I've been looking for something like this. With other D.I.Y dolly vids there's just to many materials to put it together.

  • @Alonesoldier100 Yeah...i have seen some of them. Thanks for the comment.

  • What is the top of Camera that was on the dolly and how much did it cost.

  • @TrippyBro21 The camera on the dolly was a HVX200.

  • music rocks man. perfect for that technique. thanks for sharing.

  • thanks

  • yo thats crazy awesomee!!

  • 8,888 views lol!!

  • its not bad

  • hha, freakin awsome

  • I subscribed because I really enjoyed your "guerrilla" camera segments. I am interested in /researching making some simple studio videos for my work and I need economical ways to get started. I also like the way you put together the pieces and your straight forward style of communication. You keep it interesting, logical and informative. I am curious what HD video camera you would recommend for a new but aspiring videographer and what editing software you use/like. Thanks!

  • Thanks....as far as equipment and software. It really depends on the budget you are willing to spend.

  • I've been watching alot of your videos..your genius dude thank you so much.

  • He He... nice.

  • Wow,,

  • cool

  • awesome

  • What is that music?

  • digital juice

  • Go Guerilla

  • Brilliant I passing this on to my daughter - she is a film student!

  • NICE! How can this be used to create some KOOL roller derby scenes of the crazed fans?

  • This setup has its limits. But is a great alternative to spending money on a rental if you just need a simple tracking shot.

  • interesting :-)

  • I'll be building a miniature version of this soon for my RC cameras! Thanks for the tip!

  • Chappy, can I borrow $13, a hacksaw, darren's camera bag, and some grease?

  • Sure...gonna be in Cali anytime soon?

  • Excellent tip!

  • My favorite tip so far! Keep em coming man.

Soon I'll have to credit you in my videos! LOL

  • omg thats so cool man. thnx for the tip! :)

  • Cool trick, and it gives a great effect.

  • very clever!!!!!

  • great tips mattman!

  • its amazing how a simple dolly like that can make the most simple shots so intense with just a little music added as well.

  • That is so cool. Now you need to invent the "crane" gutter. :)

  • Wow! This is awesome! Thanks!

  • Awesome man! ..but what happens when the gutter fills up with leaves? :P 5*****

  • thats amazing idea....your gona save me big $ with all these tricks

  • Good work. Thats better than most Kevin Smith flick. And way smoother than anything from Entourage. Sick!

  • Very Nice!

  • so nice :D

  • Sweet tip! Less than $13. Really cool.

  • I couldn't believe that a 10 foot rain gutter and the debris cover were under $13. And this is Home Depot we are talking about too.

  • Wow. That is cheap. They prob. figure you'll buy 100 feet of it for a whole gutter project and they'll get $130 out of you....Home Depot can't fool a guerilla though.

  • Right....a rain gutter project would add up pretty quick if you had to cover a whole house huh? But this guerilla filmmaker just discovered the holy grail of cheap solutions for simple dolly moves.

  • Hahhhaa.."the holy grail of cheap solutions." True.

  • Guerilla is the word for it!

  • Awesome! Faved and tweeted.

  • hahaha you mean twatted, XD

  • Means a lot. Thanks

  • thats pretty awesome... especially to do low angle shots... I like these tips... keep them coming!

  • I'm glad you like. More to come.

  • Hey...nice shirt.

  • Wow!
