Idiot! Start 5 wisp go mining , train as many as you can to harvest.. . if you have the resource to make moon well. Make it ASAP, after making 3 MW,Make a hunter's hall. Make Altar ( princess of the moon ( aura )) make x2 Ancient of war then spam archer. While training archer upgrade their upgrades at the hunter hall.
Seriously, any start works. I personally have achieved success on a huge amount of starts BUT this one is a very successful one and in the lower brackets which I am in (L14), you will win 60% of the times. You don't need to use Demon Hunter. My fav hero is the Warden and I use it alot. but Demon Hunter is a good choice for a beginner. I advice not using Keeper though. Far too vulnerable. On the video: 2 Moon wells, then don't build anything else. Wait for tech.
why do u have the huntress hall built so early? It's just sitting there without any AOW's up to build huntresses yet. you might as well build them at the same time. you're gonna get tower rushed.
lol i started playing wc3 today and my build gets me hero +2 huntresses when the night comes which is incredibly better than this, + single-colored screen makes my eyes hurt
@NunoNgMacau we know that you´re soo good at wc3 and make it better then anyone BUT keep in mind that this vid is 3 years old and even the biggest noob will be a skilled player after them, so let them make their own experiences in losing
I don't think Huntresses are that great of a unit and I wouldn't mass them. Their range is terrible and they aren't that powerful. Best part about them is their Sentinel Ability. Put owls at gold mine locations, in your base or other key points on the map.
@Vocizo Here is what works for me...4 Wisps to Gold, 5th builds Altar. 6th Wisp builds Moon well, 7th and 8th Wisps to Wood. 9th Wisp builds Ancient of War. Next Wisp goes to Wood. When Altar is finished Wisp goes to gold. When Moon well is finished, Wisp goes to Wood. Use either your 10th or 11th Wisp to build 2nd Moonwell. When Ancient of War is complete build a few archers. Now you can build another Ancient of War to mass archers or build a Hunter's Hall for huntresses or upgrades.
@Vocizo I've never seen someone AOW creep B4. Let's say u are playing the Lost Temple map. Would a good strategy be to build your 1st AOW near your closest gold mine and then kill the creeps there with the AOW and hero? Then go early expansion? Only problem with the AOW creeping is that you can't build any units while doing it. But I imagine you build a 2nd AOW to do so...Am I right?
@davebautista1 I usually only build one, unless when i scout i see that he is rushing. Lost temple is a map i have trouble with. Dont build AoW to close otherwise it will aggravate creeps. I usually just harass with demon hunter until i get tier 2, and expand when it feels right. I don't like spending a lot of time at tier 1, unless i have too.
@Vocizo I tried this on 2 maps (Plunder Isle and Lost Temple) against an ez comp and I found out that AOW creeping is difficult and the risk outweighs the gain. You are so vulnerable doing this and it is ez to screw up. This might work against bad players, but any good player will see your naked base and go to town on you. Most of the time I run my DH around the map and have gotten many ez wins from guys building towers near my base or near creeps. The DH and 2-3 archers can do the same job
@davebautista1 watch replays off moon. AoW creeping is very effective, it just takes practice. If you really want to be the best NE u can, you have to do it. Just scout well, and you will be fine.

my method is that i build few archers and when i upgrade tree to second level i build building that has hypongriph riders ( dunno name of building) and put archers on it... i think in little time you have good army like mine?? dont you think so... my first option was never huntress'es, actually i never ever built them.

It depends, because for some tactics wood is more important than gold in the first 5 minutes. Also buliding a moonwell 30 seconds later makes no difference in the speed of producing units yet gives you an extra 10 wood. Same story for hunters hall. Think about it, we are talking really early game here. Every wood counts.
PPFFFFT its never "too" early for a moonwell that way you can spam the crap out of your ancient of wars so you would have all these men really fast at the start of the game tho i think people that dont are noobs but thats jsut me

I see that many people say that a rush would ruin this tactic,,, but the thing is that a archmage and footies rush wouldn't work since the water elements will die to detonate and archmage's mana will be burned and then human won't do any damage.. A orc rush with bm for that matter wouldn't work either since orc are so dam slow and bm's mana will be burned and the elfs are quite protected... So bottom line it's a good tactic however I would build a ancient of war close to a orange creepspawn
What are you talking about? A rush would devastate him as those wisp would be his much needed wood and you dont need a lot of damage to take out a moon well, altar, or barracks before he even has a chance to push you out. IF he can push you out before you wreck his base so bad its already game.
And so this is really worth the time the AOW isn't making units? I would have thought it was just better to use that time to make a couple more units. What am I doing instead of making those early units?
the ancient of war is not only a good attacker, but it can also heal by eating trees, which NEVER get used up by elfs (wisp harvesting), so it can constantly heal. Also, its saves the moon well water for later on in the game, when healing with the well can make or break a game
a rush will completely destroy that. i generally build 2 wisps, make a moonwell and alter, then when the first wisp finishes i'll use it to build an ancient of war. my strategy varies a lot from there.
i think he means hero. demon hunter seems to be the most popular to start with, but all of them work. i think most people choose demon hunter because its kind of an anti-hero unit, thanks to its mana burn. and everyone knows a hero with out mana is no where near as good as a hero with mana. some more so than others.

bro this is a good strategy but u used it totally wrong. like normal u build a altar and moonwell and then if u get 5 wisps in goldmine sent the next wisps to wood and after u got 160 wood build Huntershall and AoW not huntershall and wait for 40wood and then build a moonwell .....

I start similar, but get the aow with the first wisp that is getting lumber. Without you can be easyly rushed by uds and humans.

I see that many people say that a rush would ruin this tactic,,, but the thing is that a archmage and footies rush wouldn't work since the water elements will die to detonate and archmage's mana will be burned and then human won't do any damage.. A orc rush with bm for that matter wouldn't work either since orc are so dam slow and bm's mana will be burned and the elfs are quite protected... So bottom line it's a good tactic however I would build a ancient of war close to a orange creepspawn

What are you talking about? A rush would devastate him as those wisp would be his much needed wood and you dont need a lot of damage to take out a moon well, altar, or barracks before he even has a chance to push you out. IF he can push you out before you wreck his base so bad its already game.

the ancient of war is not only a good attacker, but it can also heal by eating trees, which NEVER get used up by elfs (wisp harvesting), so it can constantly heal. Also, its saves the moon well water for later on in the game, when healing with the well can make or break a game

the health it gains by eating trees is too little, it gains much more when it just roots down, he basically gets full life in seconds

a rush will completely destroy that. i generally build 2 wisps, make a moonwell and alter, then when the first wisp finishes i'll use it to build an ancient of war. my strategy varies a lot from there.

i think he means hero. demon hunter seems to be the most popular to start with, but all of them work. i think most people choose demon hunter because its kind of an anti-hero unit, thanks to its mana burn. and everyone knows a hero with out mana is no where near as good as a hero with mana. some more so than others.
