Second nes game I ever owned. To think about it, second game I owned myself in gerneral. Just recently purchased it again. Great level design, big cool bosses, and I love the music. One of the most memorable and best levels of the game is the one where you can cut underwater zombies in half. I love this friggin' game!

I played this game when I was very young and I used to like it over every other NES game I played but I never understood it and kept dying but that didn't bother me much.

But I just had a sudden flashback of this game when I was playing Jurassic Park 2 for the SNES about 30 mins ago. One level was on a cliff and it just struck me one of the early levels of the game had me jumping on a cliff to get to something.

Anyways I just found it in my collection im so happy! =D

You know, I can't believe that I didn't realize that until you guys mentioned it; the whole him looking like a barbarian/warrior, and being a knight in the game. Although, in the third one, you could be different classes. I use to play this game a lot, too, when I was a kid, and I actually still have the original game with a bunch of other old NES titles, and there was always a few jumps that use to mess me up in this game.

Great game. Much better than its predecessor, Wizards and Warriors. However, never could understand why the cover art (and this commerical) in both W&W and Iron Sword depicted the protagonist topless, wearing a conanesque loin cloth, when the character in the game wore a full suit of armor.
