@SpisadKoTunga In Holland there where 20,000 troopers of the elite 1st Fallschirm-Armee.

Where as all Tiger tanks Jagdapanthers and 88 cannons that where produced where sent to Holland after the fall of Normandy.

And the 9th and 10th SS Panzer Divisions which where battle hardened vets of the Eastern Front and Normandy

Not to mention the presents of Oberkommando der Wehrmacht.

So I think you need to pull your head out of your arse and open a book !

The German Campaign in Opposing Fronts deals with Operation Market Garden. And there the Wehrmacht DID prevent the Allies from taking the bridge at Arnhem.

operation market garden was a real opperation. british paratroopers were supposed to capture towns along a road, while american & british armor connected them. it was a slaughter for the british paratroops. no ammo, no food, no radio, no medicine, almost no supplies. oh and the panzer army (cant remember which) was vacationing in one of the towns unknown to us...

oh sorry, american paratroopers were dropped also, but mostly in the first few towns

The two main panzer units in the area were the 9th SS Hohenstaufen at Arnhem who devestated the British and the 10th SS Frundsberg who destroyed the 30th Corps and pushed the 101st and 82nd away from their objectives
