@MarMPB dont know if im too late but super performance makes them for about 100,000 US dollars and thats without an engine in it, but mainly because people want their own pick of engine, you can put anything from a 331 and stroke it up to a 427, and for that matter you can supercharge it if you want
@2bidfilmsguy They come without a motor so they can maintain "kit car" status for registration purposes in the US. Otherwise they would have to meet crash test standards, emissions etc etc.
@2bidfilmsguy It is far more than that. If they didn't have kit car status they would be subjected to 5 mph bumpers, door design regulations, bumper height regulations, steering column regs, and all kinds of stuff far beyond air bags and emission controls. Just to become legal to import to the US would compromise their designs and be very expensive for a fairly small manufacturer. The pointless & extensive requirements to be US legal is why we dont get some of the great cars made in the world.
@shananagans5 I see i dont really care about safety equipment anyways in a car like this, not even a 5 star rollover rating are going to help you when you eventually lock up a tire on a patch of gravel and roll it into some trees at 120 miles per hour
@shananagans5 THEY ARE NOT KIT CARS, and the only reason they do not need to abide by DOT Rules is the car comes into the country without an Engine and Trans. and it is registered as a 1965 or 1966 Cobra. They did not have all the safety crap in 1966......
@sixtiesforever1966 I never said I considered them kits but they are classed as kits for importation purposes. That is why they don't import or sell them as complete cars. The only way they can be imported without meeting EPA & DOT requirements is to maintain the legal status of a kit car. Some states do allow registration as if it was original but the Fed laws don't. If they did it could be imported complete because of no restrictions on 20+yr old vehicles but as is they must be "kits" legally
@sixtiesforever1966 Yes, I know it's stupid but that is how they create the loophole to import a new car that does not meet EPA & DOT regs. You know it isn't a kit, I know it isn't a kit but legally it is a kit car. That is the same reason their dealers can't install the running gear. If you notice the work is completed by an approved independent shop. Superformance makes a very complicated importation process easy and that is another reason they are exceptional.
@2bidfilmsguy Actually they start at a base price of $42,900 Minus Motor & Trans and of course any options you want. or throw a Ford Performance Crate motor and trans for $10,000 and you are off. That is around $53,000 if you put the motor in it your self.
@MarMPB LOOK UP THE SUPERFORMANCE WEB PAGE. If you are in the USA there are dealers in CAL, NEW YORK, OHIO. They show you a map and name of dealers. Easy as that!
Good video! But I'm left without knowing how much it is and where to buy it!

@shananagans5 ok i see, having airbags or catalytic converters would make this car feel like it isn't from the mid 60's

I think, the Shelby Cobra Coupe looks a little bit better than the Ferrari 250 GTO.
