@drfeelgoodTO I would start off learning the minor pentatonic scale in the standard position (you can worry about the other positions later), followed by the blues scale. Once you have mastered those, you can experiment with different modes, which in effect add 2 or 3 notes to the scales you will already know.

I'm a rhythm player interested in expanding my soloing, what scales would you recommend I practice to branch out into leads/shredding?
