This Stupa is an amazing place, I ended up going there every day of my stay in Sedona. One afternoon, as I was sitting there silent lost in my thoughts, a group noisily made their way up to the the Stupa. Even with my eyes closed I could see the boy stop, look, then exclaim "I don't get it." I laughed and cried...
@hellophoenix +++ I just discovered this place on my third visit to Sedona. I guess I wasn't ready or it wasn't time, even though I had seen pictures of it before (thought it was the Center for Enlightment on Schnebly Hill) and a guide on my 2nd visit mentioned the lady whose idea it was to build this stuppa. When I finially discovered this place, I was drawn to go there 3 times in 2 days. It is very very peaceful.
Gave it a five rating because thats as high as it goes. Enjoyed the shots of the stupa being built. I try to get up there 3-4 times a year from the Phoenix area...
All or our Retreat guests love meditating at the Stupa and have had wonderful experiences. It is always amazing to see the offerings that have been left. The Stupa feels wonderful, soothing, refreshing, and healing. It does indeed feel like the heart of Budha. Thank you for sharing this beautiful video and speading the healing power of self love. We do indeed need more love on the planet right now. Blessings!
To Ejszello: you are sooo right! Stupas must be built by qualified lamas. This Amitabha Stupa was built under the direction of Jetsunma Ahkon Lhamo, spiritual director of KPC Buddhist Temples, and she requested Tulku Sangnag Rinpoche of EWAM to oversee its construction, with all the proper rituals and procedures.
nice story progression.. i have visited this stupa many times to pray, and was also supported by the nuns in my Peace Walker project. This is truly a magical place!
I wanted to build a small stupa for my new altar, but it's sooooo complicated! Maybe someday when I have more money I'll buy one.

I am not a Buddhist but I just spent 4 days in a wonderful retreat with Tulku Lama Lobsang in Sedona.
I wish I knew about this Stupa, I would've definitely visited it.

All my Belessings for the Amitabha Stupa...
the Ground Itself...
and all who walk upon it...
Beyond words to express my Graditude,
to the Builders and the Members of the Sanha.
My spirit, was fulfilled, in your Presence.
I am....with You...my Friends.
Peace from your Lotus.

We're coming to Sedona for Thanksgiving and look forward to experiencing the Stupa and Red Rock Country. It seems to always recharge our "batteries"
