It takes 150k jobs monthly to keep up with population growth.
There hasn't been one month in 2011 that more than 150k jobs were produced and somehow the unemployment number continues to drop. The U6 rating is the important rating (16.5%)
so, mr. obama... if there are so many natural disasters happening how are so many police, firefighters, etc losing their jobs? Or is that just the canned response now... Economy tanks so we won't talk about the actual employment problems, we'll stick with blaming it on something that happens in good economic times as well as bad, and add in the poor police, firefighters, and teachers in there for good measure...

the real us unemployment is over 23%. the 9.2 is what they call the U3 figures, the real figures are the U6 plus you have to add the number of people who just simply gived up looking for work in last 3/6/12 months but still receive benefits, and to make matters worst is that none of the figures published by the unemployment agencies includes the number of people who accepted part time work but looking for full.time also does not include sick and disable. never trust politicians

My point is that people from wealthy countries will fly to the USA for health care rahter than having a procedure done in their own country. In Europe if you need surgery you go on a waiting list. Here in the US with or without insurance you will receive a surgical procedure without a waiting list. Why is medical care so expensive in the US it's because our standard of care is much better and if a doctor screws up you can sue. By the way your stats are unfounded and those numbers are wrong!

We have many hospitals run by charaties to also protect those who are out of work or very poor. In most cases the person going to the county will have to pay a small fee or deductible. Trust me I know the difference between socialezed medicine and county assistance! And, no one will die...LOL

Let me tell you who will be hurt the most by the Great Recession: wise guys who want to graduate from high school, join a carpenters' union or automakers union and get $35/hr starting wage (with a high school diploma).
Those working class champions will be wiped out to the last man, if not this recession then the next. They will be replaced by folks making about $15/hr, which is what an auto assembly worker gets in Japan.
In the future, to make $35/hr or more you will need higher education...

the real us unemployment is over 23%. the 9.2 is what they call the U3 figures, the real figures are the U6 plus you have to add the number of people who just simply gived up looking for work in last 3/6/12 months but still receive benefits, and to make matters worst is that none of the figures published by the unemployment agencies includes the number of people who accepted part time work but looking for full.time also does not include sick and disable. never trust politicians

If they would look at the REAL rate instead of what the stats say you would get a real high rate. The homeless and the people that have fallen off the roles are never counted and also people who can't get work are not on the rolles either. Here in Oregon the real rate is at least 25-30%. Our government is so evil and pass laws like NAAFTA that send all the manufactruring and call center jobs overseas. I lost my job in August of 2009 due to outsourcing and cannot get another one!!!! I hate it.

My point is that people from wealthy countries will fly to the USA for health care rahter than having a procedure done in their own country. In Europe if you need surgery you go on a waiting list. Here in the US with or without insurance you will receive a surgical procedure without a waiting list. Why is medical care so expensive in the US it's because our standard of care is much better and if a doctor screws up you can sue. By the way your stats are unfounded and those numbers are wrong!

Presently, I have a friend who lost her health care due to her company closing and now she uses the county health care system and she pays zero dollars for doctors, procedures or medicine. I lived in a country where I received socialized medicine and their system was so bad it almost killed me. Thank God I flew back to the USA where I was seen immediately!

@petersz98 No, it's not socialized medicine. Only the land owners who pay property tax put money into the county hospital district fund so it covers everyone in case there is an emergency. We have many hospitals run by charaties to also protect those who are out of work or very poor. In most cases the person going to the county will have to pay a small fee or deductible. Trust me I know the difference between socialezed medicine and county assistance! And, no one will die...LOL

Deregulation my foot. Government involvement in the mortgage business is directly responsible for the crash. When banks were required to make bad loans, they went to directives to try to cover their losses. This piece is nothing but another attack on the successful. When an orchestrated economic collapse happens (as so many times in the past), and those that caused it are not punished, but in fact rewarded, the end product is the loss of jobs. Bailing out those at the top that created this pyramid scheme, rather than helping those who were about to lose their homes and jobs, spoke loud and clear as to who runs the government. The economy is being propped up by debt, and printing money that is backed by foreign investment. The rest is a smokescreen.

Most people laid off are slackers anyway in my opinion. Punctual, persistent, responsible, dedicated, imaginative people will keep their jobs. If you don't have it now , then chance you never will. Diversified skills will definitely keep food on the plate and a roof over your head.

Look people it is plain and simple!! How is the Government going to create jobs when it is the businesses (companies) that create the jobs not the government! The gov't can only give incentives to businesses ALLOWING them to create more jobs. But if the incentives DO NOT have stipulations on hiring certain amount of people then those companies can just pocket the money for themselves and not hire a single person.Plus companies are leaving the U.S. which is why jobs are not growing in our country

After taxing and regulating all manufacturing industry out of existence, having nothing left but financials, burger flippers, wedding planners and TSA stasis, now the financials have to be looted for academics that rely on stolen money for their income. A theft arms race the tax slaves will always loose from the elites, as proven by their involuntary contributions to financials being bailed out.
