  • I think she is my favorite singer of all time--and I'm in the business!!!!!

  • i wasnt too impressed with her lower register here but of course the higher stuff was good i know a trinidadian who does this magnificently!

  • Incredible! Entertaining!

    Love it!

  • Simply Stunning :)

  • There is just nothing in the world like the sound of her top register. Even in a fun song like this, the clarity of that last note blows me away!

  • What a delight it was to hear this performance, couldn't stop smiling!

  • Sheer perfection, in voice and acting! Kiri is the best!

  • I think this is one of her best performances of this particular song. So glad to finally find it.

  • She is remarkable!!!

  • Her diction is amazing! And I love her quirky facial expressions and acting!

  • Kiri is the only one I've heard sing this song very well... LOVE IT!!!!!

  • lol I was waiting to see if she would sing "plump girls" or "song birds". She said "fat girls". That made me laugh. It was just unexpected.

    I love that last "me".

  • does anyone have Beverly Sills singing this one. I heard it about 25 yrs ago on the radio so it might be audio only but Beverly was a lot funnier

  • Beverly Sills did indeed record it. I think it was the best version, by maybe because it was my introduction to the song.

I believe it was on an album she made with Sherrill Milnes. If not, it may have been her album of Viennese music recorded with Andre Kostelanetz.

  • Kiri is THE BEST!

  • she is brilliant!

  • Love This Song!

    Well Done

  • I believe that Jennifer Larmore did WAY better

  • I agree. No offense, Dame Kiri!

  • Couldn't agree more.

  • I agree :)

  • LOL, not horrible, magicmonkichi meant "humble", Aleph.

  • Brilliant. I was at her farewell performance in Toronto. What a great personality on stage, and what a homble lady. Brava Dame Te Kanawa.

  • Why a horrible lady?

  • wow sorry my bad spelling there, should have said 'humble'. I put "homble" not horrible hehe...phew.

  • magic. She is a humble lady! That's why people love her so much.
