  • I can remember watching these every afternoon. It was quite a revelation to see these old prewar shorts, such a contrast to the '50s-era LT/MM cartoons CBS would show on Saturday morning.

  • I actually remember that graphic.

  • That was from a redrawn colorized version of "Porky and Gabby" (1937). On problem is that the iris closed in the center of the screen, instead of closing in on Gabby as in the black and white version.

  • Warner Bros. learned their lesson by 1990 when they did the first set of computer colorizations. They preserved the original theatrical quality. They couldn't do that with the redrawns.
