@BankaiIchigo12345 It's kind of both. When Captain Planet started out, it was owned by DIC but then Hanna-Barbara bought it and it became awful. Most of the stories became ridiculous and less serious and the animation had less detail.

@jumin82, & @fdfederation: If you think this new intro song is bad, then you haven't heard nothing yet. There's a rap intro to this song during the sixth & last season of this show. Now, THAT'S worse. WAY worse.

Just type in "Captain Planet Rap" at Youtube's search bar or Google "Captain Planet Rap Theme Song," & you'll see what I'm talking about.

@Pegas105 I just took a look at it. Anime movies have superior animation regardless of what anime it is. I'm just surprised that the movie was made in 1984. That's REALLY good for 1984.

It's not that old. This version premiered in 92/93 if I'm not mistaken. The likes of GI Joe and Transformers were in their height a decade earlier and had animation about on par with this.

In the original version Kawmi(voiced by Lavar Burton) says the introduction, in the new one Captain Planet says it.

@SDStar00 Also, when they mention Linka in the orignal version they say she is from the Soviet Union but in this version they say Eastern Europe. The original version was made before the fall of the Soviet Union.
