Wow! I don't know what "Maripudelmonaco" found not to like about this. True there were a couple of mistakes in the Italian but the voices and musicality are certainly there in spades. It was great seeing Eva Marie a few years younger and a few pounds lighter. Just gorgeous!

The only mystery was how Turiddu could prefer Lola to this knock-out. (Of course, in real life, this lucky tenor is married to her.)

With better management Eva Marie would have been a superstar long ago.

@TedinNY I think, for a woman as tall as Eva-Maria, she isn't really overweight nowadays. Deborah Voigt certainly was something else. I don't really think she had bad management. People, especially in Germany where she used to do a lot of auditions, just failed to see this talent. It's a pity. But she does have some time left, I think.

Amazing, to hear Westbroek in this repertoire! She is good too! As is the Turiddu, who I understand is her husband.... Where is this production from? Thanks so much for sharing!
