i think the new fright night might actualy be the one movie remake that will not dissapoint.but we know how hollywood is.they destroy every great 80s movie.

It would be easier to put Fright Night for a limited cinema release keeping the image 100% close to the original for 35mm and digital release with its original Dolby film mix as I hate re-mixes, I think Fright Night must have had some slight artistic Dolby mixing as there are stereo surrounds when Jerry Dandridge is creeping around Charlie’s home outside on the roof.

So a limited 2/4 week re-release would tell if the film still has box office bite!

@localh21 Every horror movie that gets remade helps the original get a Special Edition treatment. You, I and the rest of YouTube's FRIGHT NIGHT fans can only pray. this movie it''s just GRREATTT!!!! i had it on VHS and on DVD, it's was the first dvd i bought, and I always check for a special edition.

sometimes studios as sony, paramount & co. sholud appreciate more pearls like this movie and give them a better treatment.

a remake in our days will be total different , because everything of this film is special: the soundtrack , the actors, the 80s, the vampires (no such tings as twilight), the HORROR IT SELF. they can't REMAKE the magic of this film!!!

FRIGHT NIGHT is probably my all time favorite movie and there R a lot of movies out there. it seems that a remake is being put into work. Starring Colin Farrell as the seductive Jerry Dandridge and the director is making the vampires extremely brutal, no day walking, no half blood crap nor twilight crap. The music in both FRIGHT NIGHT'S 1&2 helped keep the mood throughout the films. If they can keep to the music and script it can be awesome. i have both movie theatrical posters&VHS, also dvds.

Just a great cast and terrific movie. Chris Sarandon was wonderful and that line, "Welcome to Fright Night for real" is priceless. Chris gotta be one of the commentators on the DVD.

FRIGHT NIGHT Special Edition!! Come on, there are way less deserving films out there with awesome releases, and all Fright Night has thus far is the crappy barebones.

Couldn't agree more! This is a movie just crying-out for a special DVD release. Completely remastered and with commentaries from the actors. This is one of the best horror movies in the past 25 years. You can tell the actors really had a great time being in it.

I liked this movie a hell of a lot more than The Lost Boys. This is scarier & funnier. Maybe it's not as succesful as that one or has a cast as atractive. But it has more heart. It actually did well when it came out, but not many remeber it.
