In my opinion it isn't the religion... it's the people. People are always going to be afraid of things they don't understand. This fear turns into hate. This hate is brought on by twisted interpretations of the Bible and other religious texts. What happened to just being good and loving your neighbor? I don't see any need in abolishing religion. I think it is inherently a good thing. People need hope and faith. I know of at least one man who is gay that needs these things and that's me.

Saw the July 2 Saturday evening show of "The Book of Mormon". It was the greatest show I have ever seen of any format - concert, theater, movie, whatever...Just incredible. He is absolutely right. It surpassed my expectations. (And Elena Kagan, Ryan Gosling and Jane Lynch were seated just a skip away!)

"8-Track tapes for Camelot"--what a hoot! Dan Savage starts out funny and just keeps going. I love Broadway musicals, too, and I can hardly wait to see "The Book of Mormon."

This is a very good interview and was quite enjoyable to watch. I liked his comments on demanding full acceptance on a person's own terms; that was very perceptive.

The rest of the interview contained other insightful comments that illuminated the current American situation very well. This was well worth the watch.
