Wonder if it would be much faster with some of the turbo zip zaps gears? Also, I made a great track for my kids' Thunder trucks. Check it out on my page.
i did sort of a different mod i completely took everything out and replaced with air hogs atom electronics it does not go reverse and im still working on turning but it is fast
@RunnerLasting12 probably not that fast actually, but since its so small, it really seems to zoom around. WIth the bigger motor and lipo it goes faster than it does when its stock and pushing the turbo button.
@microbuilder with my airhogs heli the 50 mah battery is connected to a curciut board and the charging connecter is on another side so how do connect the battery to the car with still being able to charge it? please reply
@RunnerLasting12 You will have to add a plug to the battery, circuit board for the charger, and for the circuit board on the little truck. That way you can plug the battery into the truck to run it, but then plug the battery back into the charger to recharge it. It takes a bit of soldering, you can get micro plugs from bsdmicrorc(dot)com.
@aaronthegreat1997 unfortrunately no. You'll need a lipo charger that will charge at a safe rate. If you use a lipo from an AirHogs plane or heli, you can use its transmitter to charger the battery.
@aaronthegreat1997 The motor was from the ZipZap micro cars that were sold at RadioShack. Not sure if you can find them there anymore, but maybe online. Otherwise, any 6x13mm motor should work, 4-12ohms or somewhere around there for resistence. Keep in mind the stock NiMH battery isnt always able to power the bigger motor, and the car will stutter.
@microbuilder im trying an experiment, can i take a airhogs helicopter motor and put it on a MTT? please reply like you really need to reply. thanks R.L.12

Any motor that is 6mm in diameter should work, the only problem is that the stock battery cant always supply enough power and the car will stutter. A motor in the 10-20ohm range might not draw as much current, but the speed might not be great.
thats cool ii just finished pooting a full river 3.7v 200mah lipo into my airhog mini monster truck same exact thing as your buggy there only diffrent body's and wheel's. i got the battery from an airhor zero gravity it's a bigger looking battery than the one you used, i do have a bigger motor that i got from an airhog heli. i havent instaled it in yet becouse its a little wider than stock. and my battery being much bigger than the opening you made i have my battery in the bed of the truck
im working on a micro terrain titan crawler im putting a zip zaps se steering servo as the motor. so it will be a micro crawler. i might put a se servo for the steering
The white buggy has the skinny tires, and is also pretty top heavy because of the body, so it can flip over pretty easily. The blue buggy I have rarely flips, wide tires, not nearly as top heavy.
Thanks. The battery came out of an AirHogs Havoc helicopter (remember, if you use one, you must use the helicopters charger, not the cars charger). The motor came from the ZipZap cars that are/were sold at Radio Shack, 6mm in diameter, not sure how much, I've had that motor for about 3 years.
Yeah it moves pretty good. The tires are bigger diameter than my other one, so even though this new motor is less hot, it seems faster. I'll have to do a drag race between the two...

where can i get a 50 mah battery?
mxdudeguy45 1 year ago
@mxdudeguy45 You can get them online at rc shops, or if you've got a broken down AirHogs Havoc heli, you can get them from those too.

@microbuilder hey, if you only put in a better motor (such as a air hogs motor) will it make the car go any faster? please reply!!!!!!!!

@microbuilder will the zipzap motor just fit in too it?
ylerspina 1 year ago
@ylerspina no, you'lll need to trim some of the plastic away from the original motor mount to get it too fit, the ZZ motors are a bit longer.

@RunnerLasting12 I cant remember if the AirHogs heli had a long can 6mm motor or not...if its got a long can, it might not fit
