  • o.o nice fucking tone! The opening note is so fuckin tasty!!

  • I also live with the boxer dog 10 y.o. )))

  • @Lianous mamy people mistake him for a boxer, he is infact a bulldog. The "olde english bulldog" breed.

  • @niewszystkojasne Cool, welcome aboard!

  • Seriously, I just keep going back to the beginning to hear you play the instrumental. Glassy tone, tasty riffage. Nice work, man.

  • @speakeasyx Thank you! Yeah, the guitar has a really unique, glass like tone, it really stands out:)

  • *MOST* excellent.

  • @speakeasyx Thank you!

  • That is the best tone I've ever heard....

  • @xguitar123 Thanks bro!

  • Thanks Morten, very nice playing. I need this for my guitarroom. :-)))

  • @gyanissimo Thank you! Guitarroom?

  • So is that a STONE pick i see your using ??

  • @col33145 No, it's a read bear, some sort of arganic material.

  • This is very beautiful!

  • @JesusPaid4You Thank you!:)

  • @MortenFaerestrand No, it's a red bear, some sort of organic material I think.

  • hello man , this is really nice tone !!! what do you use for that ?

  • @Samymakintosh Thanks! I'm not 100% sure what I used here, I would guess a Carvin Legacy 2 and a Carl Martin PlexiTone.

  • @Samymakintosh to be honest I don't remember.. It's either a Carvin Legacy or a Fender Blues Junior. Probably the Carl Martin Plexi Tone overdrive pedal, but I'm not 100% sure about that either.

  • I'm watching this again, the intro is so great! Also what kind of dog is that? Is it some type of bulldog? No matter what it's so cute!

  • @cowcrusher Cool, thank you! The breed is called Old English Bulldog.

  • Yup I need to practice lol

  • @cowcrusher we all do!! :)

  • silly almost useless question: have you tried Jackson guitars in jazz-fusion styles sometime? it was a kink of mine to try out ..but i never had a chance..:3

  • @awfulguitarplucker I don't think I have tried a Jackson ever actually. I don't think brands matter that much, most brands have both shitty and great guitars, some offer more value than others..

  • where you get all these backing tracks?

  • @WASD9ox I make them myself.

  • that dog was right...sounds great man

  • @ECNeeba He's a wise dog... :-D

  • Exellent lesson, thanks for your posting! Sounding absolutely amazing. Who makes that guitar? That neck looks really cool!

  • @Benill03 Thank you! The guitar is actually an old ESP. I messed it up in my teen years - painting on it, scraping paint off, changing pickups etc etc. I just recently got it set up as it was originally, we decided to omit the logo since it was a pain to get a hold of it. It looks cooler without anyway!

  • Your an amazing guitarist man and I hope one day I'll sound that good!

    Very useful lesson, thank you!

What pups are on that guitar?

  • @moonchard Thank you, great that you could use it! :)

The pick ups are (they are 20 years old, I don't know if they make them anymore) Ultrasonic ref 5 (I think) in the neck, an OBL in the middle, don't know the model name, it's like a humbucker in single coil format, and a Seymor Duncan Trembucker by the bridge. I particularly like the neck pickup, it has a really unique kind of glass clear quality to it! :)

  • "Sounds great man!" :) Sure does, sure does. I'm subscribing...

  • @leozingy Cool, welcome on board!:)

  • really nice playing. really nice note selection and the sweeps don't even sound out of place, it's all really nice lines..

  • @misterreality Glad to hear it, that's what I aim for:)

  • Nice playing! I enjoyed it a lot. My friend plays sweeps as well. I'm not a guitar player so I'm not sure if you're doing it exactly the same but i got his videos on my channel if you want to check him out. Anyway, I've enjoyed several of your videos now so keep it up.

  • @victoraleb Thanks for watching! :)

  • great tone

  • @oswa0714006 Thanks man!

  • amazing

  • @RyanCmetal Glad you liked it!:)

  • Great playing, cheers Morten :)

  • @Axemaniac Thank you!

  • I want to learn that scale!!More likely my idol Steve Vai!!

  • @Rizenchaos go ahead and sign up on my lailing list, and you'll get the TAB for it! :)

  • iPad:)

  • do you use red bear picks? i see a sticker on your wall... :) if so, then awesome! they are the best!

  • @guitaralbert0 Well spotted!!! Yeah, I do, and I agree! :)

  • @MortenFaerestrand,

Great stuff AND your dog ROCKS!

  • @billmeedog hehe, thank you!!

  • Glad I subscribed. Not just a great guitarist but you have a great sense of melody.

  • @hueseph Thank you! Good to have you on board! :)

  • Frankly you deserve 5 stars, just for the dog - and another 5 for the playing. Seeing as I can only give 5, that will have to do. Love your technique, tone and phrasing.

  • @g3legacy Its been so long since I posted a rating I forgot the stars have gone, so you got the thumbs up instead haha!

  • @g3legacy haha, that's great man, appreciate it! :) I'll tell the dog you said so.

  • Soulful playing, sweet tone.

  • @MrDzhimbo Thanks bro! :)

  • this is fantastic dude. there are a lot of amazing guitar players on youtube but it's really rare to find someone who can keep solo-guitar so interesting the whole time. well done.

  • @Sublemon7 Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! :)

  • That intro is a panty dropper.

  • @downtowndougb umm, ok, thanks.. ;-)

  • hi morten, thanks for exellent sound, one CIAO from italy

  • @AlexShyBoy Thank you, HEI from Norway:)

  • @MortenFaerestrand Unfortunately, I do not speak English very well where you are very good, i study drum and i like jazz then I don't understand exactly everything you say, but I get the same to appreciate your sound and passion put to teach, congratulations continues so HEI !

  • @AlexShyBoy Thanks man, glad to hear it:)

  • Rolling across strings on one finger is tricky, do you know any exercises for that alone?

  • @D3R3K1600 just take it slow and focus on getting it clean.. It won't be 100% clean all the time, which is great since we're playing music and not doing math.. ;)

  • Beautiful man, really love that guitar. the color is gorgeous

  • @diamonddust22 Thank you, yeah I agree, I just had it painted a few weeks ago, back to the original color, it looks even better live than on screen! :-)

  • @MortenFaerestrand It truly does and the sound is really amazing too.

  • great tone, what are you playing through?

  • @mrfish4lyfe thank you!! I play through a Carvin Legacy 2 combo.

  • Great tune Sensei. You sound excellent as always. I am pleased that other people are digging you as well!

  • @brwnhornet59 Thanks bro!!

  • That is a nicely scalloped guitar neck. Great tone too.

  • @IntelligentProbe Thank you! :)

  • you look like shawn lane lol

  • Hi Morten.

    I try with you.

    I watch your dog.

    I thank you.

    Hello from Ukraine.

  • @Yelizev hehe, you're welcome, my dog sends his regards too;)

  • Ekstremt deilig gitarlyd!

  • Got what you mean, anyway it's ALL NICE! Keep it up, ROCK ON!!

  • yes! something like what u've played, but all recorded within tracks, not live! I bet that will be as nice as the live version as well!

  • @severionz ah, I see:-) Actually, this IS recorded to separate tracks, I record the entire lesson into Logic Pro.. So this is all I have, it's not a finnished composition, just a scetch I made to show a different way that the musical example we're working on right now can be used.

  • Nice nice, can feel the passion running in the notes..Do you have a nice studio version to share? It just spurs & inspires!

  • @severionz Thank you! Studio version?

  • Really liked solo at the end! Want moar! :]

  • @evilek Cool, stay tuned:)
