Not very, but if you are feeling brave you can make the synching better by fiddling with the appropriate CV setting. The loco would sound better if I had fitted the base enhancer that clips on the back of the speaker, but there's not enough room in the loco body.
i bought a steam loco for my son and myself for xmas. we already have 4 diesel locos with dcc sound on board which we still really enjoy listening to and running after several months. i personally find that although the sounds emitted from our steam loco are very impressive, to anyone who has seen a real steam loco in action something crucial is lacking, ...... namely steam coming out of the engine in massive quantities as per the real thing..... ??

SWD do produce other steam, I have Loksound GWR King and Exeter Cathedral as specially programmed by SWD and very well pleased with them I am too.
I did buy a Deltic loksound programmed from someone elsewhere and that was 100% a waste of my money !
I will be ordering Loksound Duchess and Deltic from SWD just as soon as they have availability.
