The song is also covered by Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris for the victims of Haiti I believe. It was also sang at the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games 2010 by KD Lang, Which I also recommend listening to very much. She does a great job with the song as well as JA does.
This is a cover folks.. The original song was written and performed by Leonard Cohen, and has been covered by many including Jon Bon Jovi. There is even a female cover version....
@basicallydavid I know what you mean, it's creepy. Some biblical scholars today translate that passage from Revelations to mean the number 616. In any event, it's code for Nero. Actually the WWE part is even creepier, but to each his own. This is still a great cover of a great song.
@TasteForDisaster Yes, this guy is probably a christian. He still did a great cover to this song and this song has nothing to do with religion and more about "love".
@WWEFreak666 hallelujah means "praise the lord" or to be more precise "praise yah" (yah being being a shortened version of Jehovah, which is the name of God, mainly for Jews). This song has everything to do with religion. Which is also confusing, because your name has "666" in it, which is known as he devils number right? The devil is considered to be full of hate, so your name is full of hate, yet you post a video about "love" according to you.
@KippyLanker Hello, the song cannot be found on a CD, I believe. It can be found on the documentary "Deliver us from Evil". I do not believe the soundtrack includes the song, but I could be wrong. I found this song on Joseph Arthur's MySpace page in his media player.
@WWEFreak666 Thank you SO much for this information! I've been trying to find the song ever since I saw the documentary. Going to check out his MySpace page right now ...
I first heard this on the ending credits from the movie "Deliver us from Evil". This song is a perfect wrap-up to a movie dealing with such ghastly issues as the ones raised there.
This is my favorite song.I'm a survivor of sexual abuse.I watched this film and I just cried....over and over.But it was good to know(as sad as this truth is)that I'm not alone....
I just saw the movie as well, and I cannot help but agree with Rulorula1. The idea that this kind of thing going on for over 1,600 years is appalling, disgraceful, and an affront to Jesus, God, and the Holy Ghost. I am glad I am not going to judge the Catholic church...I'm too human and would want my pound of flesh. Of all the things done by this perverted institution, this is, by far, the worst. The father of the girl gave up on God...that is my definition of hell, and I will pray for them.
Great Song Joseph. I tried to enjoy the movie but I couldnt... I just wanted to kick that mother fucker's face.. but at the end your song was just the perfect end
I mean WTF. Are you people so effing ridiculous that you have to rag on this person's Youtube name because it has 666 in it? Get a life.

Eu sempre ouço Joseph arthur porque sempre me lembra alguém. E cada música dele fala um pouco sobre cada um. Aleluia (;
