Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll. Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
Oh my god... At :02 when they are carrying out the organ... Brings me back soooo many memories of before I had a case for my Vox of how me and my friends how we had to carry it... lol.
Some of these movies really sucked .. I know because I went to see ALL of them ... but they were a chance for us to see new artists and a chance for groups like The Animals to get wider exposure ... now they seem sorta silly and I know E.B. was lip-syncing but who cares? ... I can stand sitting thru 90 minutes of a lame script and bad acting and cliche after cliche just so I can see the amazing old footage of the Legends during the time when they were becoming Legends.
I'm with ya. It was the only way to see 'em outside of TV occaisionally. I don't know how it worked but did you ever notice how the bands never really played their big hits(?) must have been some kind of contractual thing. Like Gary Lewis in 'Swingin'Summer' he was huge at the time but all the band did were awful throwaways. "I thik this clip is from "Get Yourself a College Girl"(?)
I saw the movie on TNT and TCM and even though it starred a woman from my home state of Mississippi, Mary Ann Mobley, the only good parts of this stinkeroo of this movie are when the Dave Clark 5, The Animals, Stan Getz and Astrud Gilberto doing "The Girl from Ipanema", and the Jimmy Smith Trio. You'd be better off looking up the videos from this film or the acts that I mentioned than seeing the movie in its entireity.
I wonder if it was a bit weird for them as professional musicians, to find themselves on a filmset in a different country, acting out playing a gig in front of a 'live' audience. 1964 is quite early in their musical career, so to go from playing regularly in English clubs to 'real' audiences seems quite a leap, to me. None of their equipment is plugged in, there are no amps and Eric doesn't even have a mic, so I was thinking it must have been an interesting experience for them!
Many Brits could play blues better than the Americans. This is just one example. It has as much heart and soul as any American blues act and the Animals were primarily a rock band. Great stuff!
God only knows how many times i have listened to this song. There was a juke box in a little pigs restaraunt in Indiana where i went to college, that we used to eat at and we would listen to this over and over; the bass from the wurlitzer was amazing!
I have a blue feeling.
It wasn't due to the fact that my lover has left.
It's due to the fact that I was born in the 90's.

eric writes in his book that for some of these they were completely baked and hungover from the night before because they were so often day shoots.

What the hell is the Great Gildersleeve doing with the Animals? The boys probably hated the shoot but got all the girls, so all is not lost.

This is The Animals performing in the 1964 comedy Get Yourself A College Girl. They also did "Round and Round" in this film.

It took the Brits to make America understand we already had the best music ever, black blues!!!

I especially like British blues rock from the late 1960s early 1970s, I believe it influenced the funk movement in America.
