Sounds like that key in Harry Potter 1. The one used to open the door to get closer to Proffesor Quill and the Scorcers Stone. Anyway sick video man. It's pretty awesome that it was your design.
What motor did you use on this ornithopter? I am trying to make one myself, and I am trying to find the right motor...and none of them seem small enough. Thanks!
hya is that a gym oor something u r flyin coz if it is that is so kl coz it has big big big space to fly in there i got a ornithopter to but mine isnt mine is rubberband powered and it only lets me fly for 4 mins depending of how long my rubberband is and how light my ornithopter is if it lighht it has longer flight if it is heavy it has less flight and doesent go high
looks tireing lol! cool invetion i built one like that but instead of balsa wood i used spagety. it wasnt too good, it could only pick up like 3/4 of its weight so i would just throw it from my stairs for a short fligh.
Wow! This looks magnificent! I think that if you sold it commercially, it would sell extremely well. It looks much easier to fly than the Flytech Dragonfly.
hey, i can provide more detailed pics to anyone interested. the orni had previously been in our engieering lab locked up but i finally retrived it. Now i just need someone to market it as a toy! I should be giving air hogs a call.
This micro is amazing! Say, for you Radio Shack dragonfly fliers, rc groups has an ornithopter panel. There you'll find diy threads discussing the Wow Wee dragonfly--tips and upgrades. With a simple mod, you can make your bug fly much better than stock.
Thanks, i posted the details for my little orni on rcgroups. I don;t know if the thread is still there, people didnt seem to take much interest in it.
Cool. Yeah RC is tough. If you're gonna fly without help, it's best to by a simulator (G3 Real Fligt) so that flying RC becomes second nature. Then you have a chance.
You know what , It sounds like bird too ! :D

Man I watched your other video and I was thinking there's no way that thing flies, kudos.
The efficiency chat cracked me up lol.

How did u find a servo small enough to steer
cacneaunit6 1 year ago
@cacneaunit6 it's probably a magnetic actuator not a servo, used on micro rc.

For a homemade microlight ornithopter that thing is fxxxing amazing! You did an excellent job on and you really should give AirHogs or WowWee a buzz!

I took a look in the ornithopter section of rcgroups at posts going back to 2005- When did you post? I'd like to read up on it.

That's amazing for the first time! I had an RC plane, and lets just say it didn't survive it's maiden flight.
Calliber50 5 years ago
That flew really well! Much better than the dragonfly I just bought at radioshack!
poindej 5 years ago
The guy standing around in the middle is flying a dragonfly from radio shack, you can kinda see it going around in the video.
lax4321 5 years ago
Yeah I have the dragonfly too - where did you guys get that other one???
