Growing up I'd always had a memory of this cartoon, but could never remember what t was. I seriously can't express how happy I was a couple of years ago when I remembered. Cartoons were amazing when we were kids.

Yarram3971 many thanks from Lima, Perú The series was aired here through Televisión Nacional del Perú (TNP) in the 90s, together with Jimbo & the Jet Set and Penny Crayon. Those were the days! By the way, since the 70s arrived many english series: Upstairs Downstairs, The rivals of Sherlock Holmes, Flambards, The plays of Shakespeare, Treasure Island, etc. Thanks again!
Those were the days when you could have two Scottish kids in a cartoon with bright ginger hair without worrying about being PC and no one even noticed. The world's gone mad since then. But some things are for the better too!
This brings back such fond memories! I haven't heard the theme tune in at least twelve years, but it's one of those jingles you recognise almost immediately. Ah, kids TV in the 90s was awesome.
There's such a lot of mystery surrounding Nessie's Pond, But if you have secret thistle whistle You might spot a Nessie of your own McTout blows on his bagpipes, Whilst Elspeth & Angus watch Those notes go floating across the Waves. Ferocious-Ness appears at once, And grabs a note or two for lunch, And the whole of the Family Ness is not too far behind Sporty-Ness leaps over him, Turns up-side-down and dives back in, And the beautiful Lovely-Ness shows she's the kissing kind!
cuando era niño me emociono bastante el capitulo cuando pasa un circo si no me equivoco pero es un musical especial en ese capitulo lo grave y lo veia todos los dias
...unbeatlable. the animation... love it. and the theme tune to cartoons sung by, what sounds like, groups in a studio! unreal... please, check out my playlist... TV I Grew Up With... it'll make you cry!

Eyewit-Ness comes up for air, And taking notes without a care, He turns, with a crash, and a bash and and a splash, To the Family Ness......#

I'm not seeing why this is being listed as a "banned cartoon" on some sites. Besides the fact it has creepy 70s animation. 0:26 Lookie there, two mouths. 0:28 Hey, it's Bazooka Joe Ness. 0:55 He's about to cut their LUNGS? 0:57 "Let's go lose our Scottish accents and become Doctor Who!" 1:15 Uh, is that a good place to be? 1:36 Is that a skirt or a kilt? 1:43 And why's s/he wearing pants? 1:54 "Dinsdale!?" 1:59 Sounds like Kraid. 2:12 "I'll caber-toss the two o you clear inta Wales."
first aired 5th october 1984 ( I was 6 months old ) lol. but it was repeated way beyond that because i vividly remeber watching it being young, wasn one of my faveourite shows- good memories, they dont make kids tv like this now!
well perhaps you would have prefered the children to be in sombreros or maybe cosack dress?but the way i see it,a childrens programme about scottish places, plotlines and....well a make-believe scotish monster might have worked better with a scottish theme to it?thick twat.
I'd totally forgotten about this show, but it's all coming back to me. Not only a delightful theme song (on par with the 'Raggy Dolls' theme)and introduction, but also delightful characters. A forgotten classic. Also wonderful to see a cartoon spoken in the beautiful Scottish accent.
Correct. And the positive messages of this stuff would be lost on them anyway. If only they would replace one or more of those pointless Freeview shopping channels with an 80s kids TV station as an alternative to the imported junk shown on ITV nowadays or the BBC with its worthy but ultimately dull preaching about obesity and climate change. This would definitely make the cut, along with Danger Mouse, Dogtanian, Willy Fogg, Bertha, Postman Pat, Jimbo & The Jetset, He-Man, Inspector Gadget...
What a top idea, and with the current wave of nostalgia around the 80's, it would also be really popular, no doubt about it. Each cartoon could be interspersed with interviews from the creators, a few words from the fans etc...
Up and coming generation does, at least those under about eight, because the mercury was taken out of childhood vaccines in 2001, hence IMO the recent fall in special needs diagnoses. I'm of the generation given the most mercury and yes I'm bitter. :-p I don't have much of an attention span but I always loved this, they should put it back on :-)
Technically its scottish!! And i love this program!! I think you're wrong though! Kid's have the attention span for this!! I mean it's pure class! Who wouldnt like this???
