Last year, I was in Highschool in China. I have to say that I now hate the olympics lol, not for political reasons but because I got so annoyed of Chinese teachers speaking about it 24/7. They were like "You should get good grades because the olympics starts in 497 days!" WTH??

The real issue is not Tibet. It is the western media's psychological unpreparedness to accept the resent rise of China as another civilization quite different from theirs. I am most touched that Olympics torch was carried to Himalaya peak by a mixed team, Tibetans, Hans, and a Tuija person. Also very touched that the recent earthquake, which claim victims including ethnic Tibetans, everybody is helping in full strength and work together as a big family in this disaster. Please all overseas Tibetans, open ur eyes and heart, and stop working towards ethnic-supremacy and separatism. We are not destined to fight each other. Please work towards tolerance and inclusion.

BALANCE94015: Tibet was a part of China for several hundreds of years, and yes a agreement was signed even during 1951 between Pachan lama and Dalai lama and the central government called the peaceful liberation of tibet, just like the liberation of all other provinces in china. The reason of Dalai Lama and he's follower's exile is NOT because of China's by west so called "invasion" of tibet, as 1951 agreement pretty much shows. If you look at Panchan and even Dalai's memo, u will find that both actually adored Mao during a period of time, and Dalai's exile was basicly kidnapped by he's own closest follower, the very young dalai Lama would hardly be able to plan and stage a rebellion at that time, a rebbelion that even Panchan Lama(2nd largest Living budha in tibet Lamaism) didn't knew anything abut.

The torch was welcomed in both Argentina and Tanzania. You can count with your fingers what are the countries making a big deal out of it: US, Canada, Germany, France, England. All of these countries were among the 8 that invaded china a century ago. They will do anything to cause trouble and isolate china. Last year, I was in Highschool in China. I have to say that I now hate the olympics lol, not for political reasons but because I got so annoyed of Chinese teachers speaking about it 24/7. They were like "You should get good grades because the olympics starts in 497 days!" WTH??
But then I realize something, if Chinese hold the olympics so dearly in their hearts. What is it that Americans are doing by protesting the Chinese govt. through the olympics,If they are not hating all Chinese people?

The real issue is not Tibet. It is the western media's psychological unpreparedness to accept the resent rise of China as another civilization quite different from theirs. Although China was the most culturally and technologically advanced country for most time of the last 2000 years, the west only mostly remember China's downtime since 1840, while forgetting it's China's inventions like paper and technology to print that helped the rise of the west since 16th century.

Some of us(Chinese) there on that day may not have studied the details of the exact history of Tibet that much, but we know far more than 95% of the protesters there, who are just chanting for the heck of it. Furthermore, for the most of us, over tens of thousands of people,we don't even want to get into theTibet issue, but you bet if the "Free Tibet" people are going to steal the torch and make things unsafe and yell "shame on China/Chinese!!" ,we will be there at any cost and protest also!
