    C'est le fab! Hugs

  • One of my favorite songs of all time!

  • One of the best bands ever!!!!

  • One of the best bands of our generation. This band paved the way for a lot of what we hear today.

  • beautiful, cool, sexy, euphoric, sad.

Add a little unrequited love for Laetitia Sadier and...

Life has nothing more to give.

  • How so???????? pls

  • Hermosa canción

    who is death??? the singer??????

  • @madinkaya Mary Hansen, la chica del tamborín y encargada de todos los preciosos "la-la-la".

  • Amazing performance!

  • Beautiful.

  • most underrated band ever !

  • makes my heart cry seein mary here and the music sung from the heart

  • rip mary

  • I saw all their nerves with flaws .....she is so amazing

...how could she be nervous ?

    ....beautiful .

  • Mary's socks are so perfect in this video; her sense of style was as amazing as her voice.

  • I sure miss mary. I love your comment djangone. It's so true. I still love stereolab, but she was such a huge part...

  • I just fell in love for the millionth time with Stereolab, gasp!!! Oh my heart simply can't take it

  • Mijita rica , la adoro...!

  • I still miss Mary Hansen. And now a good friend of mine who also mourned Mary's death passed away recently.

  • this was great seeing this song live. Thanx!

  • Beautiful song. Love this lot!

  • Stereolab is going to be one of those band they're going to bring up 20 years from now... they're there hasnt been many other "bands" over the past 20 years that could ever leave a legacy of consistence great tunes, and gave birth to bands and reached and had fans of any race on this planet...

  • Even though the camera never really shows Sonic Boom I instantly knew it was him. The guy exerts such a unique presence, even when he is just in the background.

  • Join stereolab today and receive a free bob hair-cut!

  • amazing

  • THE FRENCH ACCENT IS BASSY! Great song

  • perfect

  • Jools Holland is a blithering twuntscab.

  • jools holland should call this band for his show one more time, cause this is such an underrated band

  • This is incredible. I wish I had been there. I am genuinely blown away by the performance. Cool

  • I have just realised that there is a similarity to Orange Juice's "Falling and Laughing". I adore both however...

  • Me gusta, son originales :)

  • perfect * * * * *

  • Man I Loved this WHOLE aLBUM..

  • esta genial stereolab una de las mejores bandas experimentales ahh y en esta cancion canta en dos idiomas diferentes

  • Gran cancion, gran banda...evoco tantos recuerdos...me destruyó.

  • awesome band

  • it's great song!!

  • RIP Mary

  • Imbeciles, es el gran Sonic Boom. (Peter Kember)

  • i love their music, as the one of every indie band from the 90s, the french chick really makes this group shine, i love it, it reminds me of mickey 3d

  • This is superb.

  • Is that Sean O'Hagan I see?

  • Yep, looks like indie's hairy beach boy propping up a rhodes there. He did all the string arrangements of course (as I'm sure you're aware if you can spot him from a glimpse of his barnet) ;-)

  • a bit.

  • caterpillarmilk (i guess) refers to the live mixing guy. i´ve been to hundrets of live gigs and there is always a guy on a mixing table, mixing the band like an equalizer on your mp3 player ;)

  • but i like the sound of this recording.

  • I think ZZ Top played next looking all orange.

  • ha!

  • One of the most gorgeous Stereolab's song!

  • I heard about she died...

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, sadly. She was knocked off her bike by a truck in 2002. Great shame.

  • really liked this band was so shocked to hear the lead singer got killed !

  • It's a cardigan, but that's ok. If I keep pointing this out I would be beating a dead heros81, huh? The drums and vocals are too loud on this. Remix pls?

  • Really, it does'nt look like a cardigan to me, but okay.

  • caterpillarmilk, "remix pls?" Its a live show, this is how it sounds played live. You ever been to see a live band before?

  • Yeah, and plenty of them have been with a shitty sound guy. This isn't about their performance. Don't defend the band for a shitty mix they have no control over.

  • Eh?

  • caterpillarmilk, you cant "remix" something live.

  • The lead singer is Lætitia Sadier (right one) and she didn't get killed in an accident but Mary Hansen (left). Still sad.

  • Magic xxxxx *so good LIVE* - Glad they signed to 4AD

  • SO GOOD.

  • Encore une fois, je suis un enfant!

  • always in my heart

  • very good!

  • que buena banda stereolab ojala algun dia tenga el privilegio de verlos en vivo ,unas de las mejores bandas del planeta para mi gusto.m

  • A little shy?

  • lol true, but still one of the best songs ever

  • I would be shy too! Bo Diddley was on the same bill!!!

  • This is the song that made me a Stereolab fan. I saw them on this tour at the Metro in Chicago. Wow. We miss you Mary!

  • Such a great band, happy i got to see them during this era!

Makes me sad everytime i see clips from this time with Mary.

Really miss her voice on the later albums.

    Great music!

  • unabashedly inspired music!

  • so good, soo gooooood

  • mary is kinda weirding me out with that ayn rand haircut.

  • They sound amazing live, I wish I could have seen them back in the day.

  • Hell, see them now, they're still great.

    (Saw them last Autumn.)

  • clearly a great band..

  • marry me Lætitia.

  • Mary's death made me sadder than I ever could have expected. It made me realize that her vocal fills were the thing I fell most in love with during my deep affair with this band.

  • yes. what a horribly sad loss. Poor Mary.

  • @djangone Same here, both the sad part (to this day I keep a place in my heart for this loss) and the vocal fills...

  • What's that thing Mary is holding?

  • The unfortunately named "Vibraslap." Hard to describe but you'll know it when you hear it. If you look it up on wikipedia you can hear a sample.

  • It's called a vibraslap and it's a percussion effects instrument.

  • ok ok so we have the women correctly identified. Now that's Mr strings himself on keyboards, sean o'hagan but is that sonic boom over the back fiddling with electronics - looks a little like him...

  • yes. Yes it is.

    Awesome factor raises even higher.

  • awesome indeed - missed this at the time so thanks for posting.

  • AmmonRa801, I know my fruit discards from my Low Countries, in other words, I know my Peels from my Hollands - I thank John Peel for having given Stereolab their big break in the late 80s/early 90s. Mary is the blonde bob - check the offical website, matey. Tim is pink-haired cross-dresser playing the cello - doh !!

  • Fair enough. No disrespect, an easy enough misunderstanding to make: you meant John Peel in the overall sense. Still, I absolutely know that without a doubt I am right about that being Mary in the green dress and red hair. She would always sing or play guitar in the front with Laetitia and Tim. The woman on keyboards with the white blond hair on stage right/house left is Morgan Lhote, who replaced Katharine Gifford right before the recording of Emperor Tomato Ketchup.

  • Watch the videos for Ping Pong or Wow and Flutter and you'll notice blond bob girl not there. Then watch anything from Emperor like Noise of Carpet or Cybele's and there she is, Morgan Lhote. But who's there the whole time? Mary Hansen. Thin, reedy, reddish hair. Better yet just type in her name on Google or Yahoo and click on IMAGES... Mary Hansen, Mary Hansen, Mary fucking Hansen.

I'm right. You're wrong. Suck it.

  • And yes, I do know that I am a total geek.

  • Look, this is just superb. It's another reason to thank John Peel...I have had the deepest of crushes on each of the Stereolab girls....poor Mary (blonde bob on keyboards) who died horribly amid London's chaos a few years ago.....

  • I hate to tell you this, but you're wrong and wrong again: that's Jools Holland, not John Peel. And Mary's the one standing next to Tim and Laetitia, playing guitar... red hair, blue dress... singing... in the well-known dual vocal style. The blond on keyboards is Morgane Lhote.

  • Okay, I was going from memory... Mary's not playing guitar, but tambourine. But she usually plays guitar. And the dress is admittedly green...
