  • I LOVE HIS AMP SETTINGS!! I TRIED THEM ON MY AMP ANS THEY ARE BRILLIANT!

  • 7:10 omg freakin amazingggggg :D

  • 9-10 hours a day!!! holly fuck!!!!

  • Awesome Tone!

  • Love the mentioning of that little paul gilbert exercise ;)

  • wow...... FAST fingers!!!!!

  • Good Questions and great answers from Jeff.

  • @coolkwstas123 They're good friends too

  • Is he relate to Chris Broderick?? They really look the same except the hair !! WOW

  • @CoolKwstas123 they played in the same band

  • how the fuck can someone dislike this video...

  • Jeff Loomis can play Yngwie.. now lets see Yngwie play Jeff..

  • @abrookes1985 By effects, I mean the common effects that guitarists use to cover sloppy playing. For example, MAB uses a lot of delay, Zakk Wylde uses disgusting chorus, Kirk Hammett uses way too much way, etc. The distortion (which you spelled wrong) is a given because HE PLAYS METAL. I'M NOT THAT FUCKING STUPID.

  • 4:28 - solo album riff for sure. amazing.

  • @jodere7 he even said it

  • @matineesuxxx oh... haha! regardless, i cant wait for his new one

  • @jodere7 loli know eh especially with rusty on it :O and i just realized how blunt of a comment my last one seemed through text lol

  • RockHard? well that's what this video made my dick!

  • Comment removed

  • Loomis is not good... He is God!

  • Whats the best way to get into this guys music.any suggestions etc?

  • @PandorasBox0985 .. well for one, quit thinking it's doomlaiden and evil, it obviously isn't.. You can also buy some NEVERMORE albums and get into the thick of it if you like. If you're into gutar, how could you NOT dig Jeff? This guy can play, there's no 2 ways about it. Just because the titles of his songs offend you (why would you let them, unless he was actually singing, and praising evil and doom) do't judge his style and his playing. Instead, try to get into it.

  • @abrookes1985 well if you had any type of common sense then you would have assumed that when i said "borning shredder" you would have refered to your previous comment where you called him a borning shredder and would have came to the conclusion that it was a typo that i made. but your too fucking stupid that it seems you cant even understand how to decipher a simple typo.

  • jeff loomis is undercredited, though evolutionary. He really just brings out a good equalized fusion of talent and badassness.

  • @abrookes1985 so you rip on loomis for being a borning shredder (wich he is not) but then you tell me you own one of his albums and name your favorite tracks off the album? you must be a total moron.

  • @abrookes1985 i assume you've never listened to his music. go fuck yourself.

  • listening to this makes my penis 0:29

  • after paul gilberts pinkey comes jeff's IMO.

  • halimaw. .

  • That amp sound great! I'm a big advocate for tone coming from the player's hands, and I'm pretty familiar with Loomis's usual tone, but that amp just sounds great!

  • Seeing this dude tonight. Can't wait!

  • I really respect that he doesn't use effects to cover his mistakes... he just doesn't make mistakes.

  • Jeff Loomis = Skwisgaar Skwigelf in disguise

  • His guitar playing made me RockHard.

  • I'll see the Jeff Loomis, tonight

  • HE SHOULD BE THE LEAD GUITAR IN CHUCK NORRIS BAND! :D haha

  • @inercia81rulezzz and chuck norris can play the ass (he kicks it good)

  • @inercia81rulezzz Please, Chuck Norris couldn't even play the Triangle in Jeff's band. The Triangle line would be way to complicated.

  • @inercia81rulezzz dude he fucking taught chuck norris

  • 3:36.... What? I love that I can hear the picking noise, really shows how clean and constant it is. This guy's fantastic....

  • @varulv234 Yeah, when he's on that neck pickup, tone-wise, it's muted, but yet so clear at the same time. Jeff is so freakin' amazing.

  • @varulv234 it's Jet To Jet (alcatrazz with Malmsteen)

  • what a great guy

  • Loomis is better than Batio. His tone, style and overall technique is just so much more appealing than Batios. Batio is good, don't get me wrong (i listen to him, have some of his cd's), but Loomis is more exciting and LESS boring than Batio. As for Rusty Cooley, I think he's awesome also, but his tone on some of his albums is horrible, very thin and tin sounding. But, they're all great guitarists.

  • @rondill65 I'm backing you up on that one.

  • Comment removed

  • wheres the lick at 3:37 from?

  • good, but nobody touches Batio...

  • @MaxxBR721

yeah nobody touches batio so he went and raped some chick. batio is fast but heeeeellllllllllllllllllllllla slops. jeff loomis is very clean and faster than batio.

  • @xPrisonOfTheMindx

I have disagree by stating the fact that batio is the fastest and cleanest guitar player in the world, listen for yourself

  • @MaxxBR721

i'm not going to argue about your opinion on his music..

but his technique is not the cleanest..

and i doubt that bato could touch shawn lane

anyway fuck batio in this vid..lets give it up to loomis.

  • @MaxxBR721 Check out Rusy Cooley. He is so clean that listening to him can replace 3,5 showers.

  • @MaxxBR721 batio blows all he can do is play really fast. he cant even play crazy train right?!! i mean come wtf who doesnt know how to play crazy train.

  • @alecxg that was so ignorant that i almost don't want to argue with you, but i will anyway. Have you ever listened to "Rain Forest" or even "The Finish Line"? go ahead listen to those songs by him and then tell me all he can do is play fast. Batio is the best technical guitarist in the world. and has the best feel and the best touch(next to Vai).

  • @MaxxBR721 lol.

  • @MaxxBR721 BS, Loomis > > > > > Batio, both in melodic and speed is worse than Loomis.

  • I hate to say this - I love Jeff Loomis, his lead playing is phenomenal, though when he plays riffs, RIFFS with his almost scooped, low-down sound, I can't pick anything there. Luckily the shred stuff is the shit here anyway.

  • Loomis is definitely one interesting character. He has a modest personality, but he also has a dark side, and above all, he can FUCKING SHRED!!! You don't see that very often in people in his line of work.

  • I love the tones this guys has in like very video!

  • "stuff like that you know" :)

  • aside from his playing, i really like his attitude. i mean, this isn't what you normally see in a great musician most of the time. others sometimes swear every other word, show condescending behavior or act like they're better than others. jeff loomis shows a lot of understanding that his stuff is difficult to play but had to work for years to get good at.

  • @bombershard I definitively agree with you, he shows no condescending behavior and also shows no ego. i feel life is full of irony, the people that have egos are good at nothing and the ones that don't have egos master everything!!!!!

  • @LapizLazuli333 so true. i think people who have big egos have less chance to improve

because they think they're so great. i never heard jeff loomis say he is great or

say something that insinuates that. i think, even at his level, he is still willing to learn new things, therefore doesn't trap himself in a box.

  • JUST LOOK THAT LITTLE FINGER!!! OMG!!!! IS FASTER THAN BUCKETHEAD, GILBERT, EVERYBODY! :O

  • 6:28 - 6:31 i would give my left nut just to pick that good!

  • *throws guitar in trash*

  • What he play at 3:37 - 3:45 ?

  • @TomekSCyrek "jet to jet" by alcatrazz

  • hey i was wondering the first sweep at 9 seconds what is that im sure for the first part he is using the phrygian scale but i cant figure figure out what that sweep is

  • whats the second yngwie lick he plays?

  • @Neverhead20 It's in his biography on his "rock house method" dvd.

  • been thinking of learning to play guitar...... not anymore

  • EVH, Malmsteen, Becker, and Marty...not at all surprised.

  • I wonder how many times he gets asked "what's your favorite track off your solo album?"

  • I wonder why the diminished sweeps for TGE sounds shitty slow, but then upon speeding it up it's the most epic section ever.

Well, that's why Loomis is God. He can take anything and make it good.

  • @cjk100000 probably cuz there's that open note in there which people don't notice unless he plays slow

  • @demigod325

I notice the open note when it's played though, plus when I play the Dim7 sweeps on my guitar, you pretty much have to do the open note or it comes out wrong ;)

  • @cjk100000 so true so true lol well it's like you said, he's god he can take anything and make it sound like gold. hell i bet if he plays in front of dog shit he could transform it into velvet carpet

  • 6:30 " I can't play slow man " :)

  • Wow, Jeff doesn't anchor his right hand when playing, right? I didn't notice until now..

  • Truly an amazing guitarist, yet so modest and respectful. For anyone that doesn't know, he turned down the lead guitar position in Megadeth and recommended Chris Broderick for the position.

  • @ThePigster1234 really?but how can this be possible?jeff has his own band,he isn't a session guitarist...where did you read that?

  • Comment removed

  • i think i know who skwisgarr is based on

  • The thing he played at 3:38 is the cleanest lick i have ever heard on that speed!Just amazing!

  • this just denied thousands of potential children

  • @Kennypro108 u got kicked in the nuts by his guitar playing

  • How could you not like that video?? thanks for tips on Vibrato,it would be fun to watch Jeff muck around after hes had a few drinks and is really loose.Time for cold shower

  • Hi, my names jeff loomis, I am fucking awesome!!

  • I quit.

  • This vid is called Rock Hard because that's how your dong gets you watch Jeff play.

  • LOOMIS is GOD!!!!!!

  • @michaeljcosta72 Hell yeah!

  • @michaeljcosta72 No he is not. He is a hardworking man perfecting his art!

  • @michaeljcosta72 nooo, loomis is a god and a half

  • he shold just quit haha

  • so theirs a fucking sword in the background

it only makes sense doesnt it

  • @ghostcannon91 Dude, can it get more METAL than Loomis, high gain and a fucking sword :D?

  • what song at 3:40?

  • Jeff Loomis has only two speeds...fast and SUPER BADASS INCREDIBLE FAST!!!!!!!!!!

  • @NICK000DICK i belive there is a third its called chuck norris speed

  • Is there a official recorded accurate tab book?

  • holy shit. 7:27

  • what's that? at the right of jeff... is it a weird guitar?

  • the new ingvie

  • @kfoxymama the new jason becker

  • lol he say he uses ENGL amps but in the background you can see a Triamp MKII by Hughes&Kettner... i am a 7stringer too and i love H&K... pretty nice sound...

  • Maple necks own.

  • @kungfuman82 im usually not a fan of maple necks at all, but this one has a darker tint, at least it seems, than normal fenders'. but this one, especially with the body color, just strikes my attention and makes this guitar extremely attractive and asthetically pleasing.

  • Comment removed

  • @mkehandgrenades who removed my comment? well a better band for jeff loomis... hmmm maybe just a better singer.

  • @mkehandgrenades Jeff isnt a douche bag though, he wouldnt quit his band or kick out Warrel just for another band

  • @amonamarthdood yeah hes a chill dude. you should check out mattias ekhlund now hes a weird character.

  • He has an awesome laughter.....

Wish I had one like that

  • from the start to the part he starts talking I don't know what happened I think I got my ass kicked can someone recap? fuuuuck

  • i have never heard him screw up a single note anywhere ever.....please jeff just one

  • Jeff F***ing Rules

  • This guy needs to get out of nevermore

And move to a bigger band or completly just do solo stuff

  • At 4:20 its the most amazing arpeggio ive ever fuckin seen!

  • i like how he says at 6:46, he will show the arpeggios in this godless endeavor slowly and than get faster, but he goes from slow to full speed, good old loomis

  • P L E A S E Schecter make this guitar for lefties also!! :)

  • He's using an Axe FX now...Not sure if its the Ultra, but thats the badest device out there...

  • @abysmalabattoir I mean Baddest

  • the licks at 0:19 to 0:23 sounds very Friedman-ish

  • man..uR a legend

  • Bloody fast as anything.

  • true talent and artistry with humility - what a concept!

  • I wanna take this guys hands so i could do that

  • What's he playing at 3:37?

  • Loomis is god. Loomis is god. Loomis is god.

  • 5:20

    I'm the one!

  • is it just me or is doesn't he sound (voice) similiar to Will Adler in Lamb of God?

  • @MaggotIam it's just you

  • @MaggotIam close. It's more like Will Adler sounds like Jeff Loomis.

If anything at least. Never heard that guy speak.

  • @sedativeman haha. Now that I think about it he does. Except WIllie says more weird and more stupid things.

  • @G27dude Yea, loomis is just a God.

The only reason why America has respect in other countries! lol

  • loomis!!! FUCKEN AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You can never interview a guitar player without them ending up wanking on their guitar lol. I love it!

  • Arnie S. has a lot of questions to ask! LMFAO

  • Jeff Loomis is by far the best guitarist currently writing and composing music. I don't think there's anyone out there who can touch Nevermore.

  • @SomeKindaMonstr The only thing I don't like in Nevermore is the Warrell Dane. If they would get rid of him I would be sold.

  • he even makes scales badass

  • He does tune down a half step right?

  • Comment removed

  • @dlr113w

    yes sir he does

  • Wow nice, as a guitar player I think I am on the right track after ten years of playing lol. He named all my favorite guitar players I looked up to an still do an well Jeff is one of them also. Keep shredding Jeff you're the first guy I have seen to evolve shredding to a new level.

  • the video cant keep up with his playing aha

  • what does loomis tune to with his 7 string?

  • @DigitalVirus its usually down half a step i believe

  • Gain up to 11, and no noise gate?! that's some clean playing!

  • he is probably using a sound compressor

  • i like ur style jeff loomis

  • Fuckin Beast!! Loomis is god!!

  • all i gotta say .. jason becker!!!

  • What song is it that he does at 3:40? i love this kind of shred and i havent gotten into loomis all that much yet...

  • idk what song it is, but look in the related videos for the Nevermore: Christ Broderick & Jeff Loomis Guitar Duel video - they do that thing in harmony at the end of it XD

  • It's "Jet to Jet" by Alcatrazz. Great song

  • it sounded like B.R.O from paul gilbert in the begining

  • that amps really noisey, too much feedback

  • its probably because hew pplugs startight into it. he isnt using a noisegate like most guys use during demos like this.

  • it's because Jeff is sitting in front of the amp

  • what kind of pick is jeff using?

  • @ektomorfucker

    dunlop tortex sharp 1.5mm

  • He's the reason I started playing 7 string.

  • @partywithbonscott

He's the reason why I live.

  • @partywithbonscott Same here!

  • @partywithbonscott me too!!!

  • @partywithbonscott me too man!!

  • @partywithbonscott i'll follow you for the same reason as far i get FINALLY enough money.

  • 3:50 :D

  • Godly. His guitar prowess is amazing!

  • 04:30 MILES OF MACHINES \m/ O_O \m/

  • Loomis plays Engl amplifiers.

  • loomis is a freak i wish he could teach me, HOW COME I CANT PLAY LIKE HIM???

  • This amp sounds pretty fucking gnarly...anyone know what model it is?

  • I think it's the Hughes & Kettner TriAmp MKII
