After having heard both versions several times I clearly prefer the bootleg. It's more dynamic, varied, has a looser approach. This is boring and forced in comparison. The old one has more charakter. M.J. maybe disliked his unfinished lyrics, more like rehearsal, but I didn't mind. I dislike his way of pronouncing some vowels and endings here, somehow whiny and artificial. I'm sure he could do better, if he didn't try so hard. "Watching the river flow" seemed more inspired, and less whiny.
