Only just found out about this guy today, have been reading his posts. He's like many of us, really - he's incredible, and at the same time he isn't - just an ordinary nice fella with a good life and a nice family. This could happen to anyone; get yourselves checked up regularly, and enjoy your life as much as this guy did. He was a champ.
I did not know Derek, but after reading his last post I somehow I felt like I did. It seems to me that he passed away with the same amazing grace he showed in his life. My sincere sympathies to the Derek's family and friends.

Its too bad he left this world at a very young age. My condolences to Derek's family and friends.
