  • I was just listening to White Lies and thinking who they sound like. This is it!

  • The chords are E and A

  • this sounds like The Doors...

  • man, this could be 1967. This was, what... 1991?

  • @handymandan100 1985 on Dan Treacy 's (Television Personalities) Dreamworld label.

  • @tomb242 well then! that's some quality post-punk

  • @handymandan100 1986!!!!!!!

  • The chords anyone, please?

    Cheers!

  • These played a stunning gig at Cleethorpes Winter Gardens back in the day...

  • reminds me of the Troggs

  • i had read once in smash hits that one of them worked in a slaughterhouse . which one was it and was he a relative of the texas chainsaw family ?

  • i like britts and madons and pinky, shit like that

  • for Cashane: good point, i never thought of it, but i think you are right - they have another song that is a happier rip off of a joy division tune and were plagued with comparisons to Echo and the Bunnymen. Still, they had great energy with a singer with straight clear as a bell vocals (in comparison to Echo's often over the top delivery). They also are one of few bands that actually sounds better live. They did a better version of this song...

  • Vinyl...there is no substitute!! I still play my MLD lp as if it was the first time...love their songs!

  • Does anyone have the lyrics? I NEED THE LYRICS. D:

  • I first saw them in Brum when I was a Bunnymen obsessed teen and saw tem for the heroes they were. I then met them at portsmouth polytechnic, and got passes to loads of their gigs, and they dedicated a song to me at the Xmas gig at the powehouse when they sang with balaam and the angel and the sid presley experience. Also Paul pretended to be my cousin so I could (fail) to get off with someone!

  • reminds of my days at college all those years ago!

  • Even better when played faster and louder, as by Pop Will Eat Itself on the Subway Records comp entitled TAKE THE SUBWAY TO YOUR SUBURB.

  • yes here's to vinyl happy days every day when playing my vinyl

  • Is that the Dreamworld version, the 1986 single?

  • this is exactly the same version as the 1986 single..but less crackly ..coz of vinyl days....glorious...one of the best indie singles of its day

  • Funny how this song is both so strongly sinspired (or even plagiarized) from baby you can light my fire -the tune of the vocals, from some thejam song (etton rifle I thnk) for the gutiar riffs near the end, and from some other known stuff I didn t recognize exactly.. At first Ithought it was some strange cover of baby you can light my fire.. Sill not bad though anyway, but they dont shine by their originality for sure...

  • is the rollercoaster version 2001

  • thanks. awesome.

  • unique sound amongst all the clutter...their sound stills rings

  • LOLS

  • This is not the version that appears on "Happy Head." Still good though.

  • Não consigo recuperar um video deles, é o Inside Out, q já consegui achar uma vez, mas agora não encontro, quem tiver, joga na rede por favor, é um clipe em preto e branco, muito legal!

  • Brings back memories. Still play it on cassette in my vintage Mercedes - one good reason to stop the Mrs telling me to get rid of it.

The question - as always - is where are they now?

  • pure an perfect

  • oh yes this was on the chart show indie chart in 1986
