@dotele1 Or you could use your ears and actually learn how to transfer what you hear on to the fretboard. But if you want to always be a hacker for the rest of your life, sure ask for tabs. If you need tabs for this lesson, go back to something more basic.
@johntuggle its like a C9 (dunno for sure) but you forgot the root note on the low E 8th fret and the timing to the C#9 wasnt the same as john does it (; sorry huge whiney fan here :)
@FreaquedeMusique That's what I said in the video. It's a C9. No I didn't play the root because I have an injury to my hand that won't allow me to do that anymore. The timing may be slightly different be he alters it a lot. It wasn't meant to be an exact replica of every rhythm he's playing, just a basic understanding of the chord progression.. Anyway thanks for watching. :)
@johntuggle I understand (; but it sounded quite dull so I thought id give you a hint! Great accuracy on the lick tho! I like to play it with a little hammer from the 8th to the 9th fret on the gstring to give it more of a major sound to it. Just another hint/tip. Great video! Love your channel! (;
I've always wanted to see Derek Trucks and John Mayer play together, in an album or live or something. The only video that exists is that Rolling Stones video where they jam, which is really cool, but I was wondering if you could maybe produce a song as to what might happen if they played together! :) I think it would rock everybody's world :)
good stuffs thanx

i feel like im getting hit over the head by the strumming. its definitely a downstroke and a somewhat muted upstroke instead of 1,2,3,4 downstrokes

This video loaded up so slow I didn't get past the intro in 5-10 min's wait time.

The C#9 is on beats 3 AND 4, not just 4.

lol if I didn't know what song these chords were from I'd say he didn't know what he was doing. Sounds funky but for some reason it works in the song

Are you sure he doesn't also hammer on the major 3rd in the rake part?
SeanTrademaster 1 month ago
When you finish the rake lick, you should really end on the root to round out the lick. Just my two cents

The concert it's taken from is the "Where the light is" one that he did in L.A. back in 2007. Sweet concert that was.
