@Anokoku That would be because they actually strive around heavy metal rather than us around pop music. Heavy Metal seems to be a huge part of some European cultures and I believe the Netherlands or some place is really big on Heavy Music providing a large % of popular heavy metal artists.

@heroineadict really wish it was.. but actually metal has been on the decline the last few years. We even lost our big festivals (Dynamo open air for example). Some active Dutch bands are "Heidevolk", "Legion of the Damned", "Epica", "God Dethroned", "Hail of bullets", "Textures", "The Gatering" and "Within Temptation". Funny thing is that some (most i'm afraid) of these bands won't fill any venue here in the Netherlands, most of them are especially known outside of our country..
