  • 2 monitor lovers hated this

  • Located within a CRT monitor are five toxic substances. Lead, mercury and barium are the most toxic substances of the five within the CRT. The other toxins which are located within the CRT are cadmium and phosphorous. If even a microscopic particle is inhaled, you may develop respiratory, pneumonitis, and neuropsychiatric problems.

  • Lucky, then, that LCD monitors do not house a Cathode Ray Tube. Hence the name ''LCD'' monitor as opposed to ''CRT'' Monitor.

Good copy & paste skills nonetheless.

  • projectsj: You're right, CRT monitors aren't as toxic as LCD monitors, but LCD monitors contain mercury--just in the second layer of the screen (there are 7 layers total). Symptoms of Mercury Poisoning: Impairment of the peripheral vision Disturbances in sensations ("pins and needles" feelings, numbness) in hands, feet, mouth Lack of coordination of movements, such as writing Impairment of speech, hearing, walking; Muscle weakness Skin rashes Mood swing Memory loss Mental disturbance
  • I get all those symptoms!!
