my grandparents went to church with waylons inlaws..in the 1960s in Az, they tell me they met him once he was clean shaved and hair slicked back like Elvis.. lol. they werent country music fans tho and didnt think much of it other than he was a real nice guy...and his inlaws bragged about him and said he gave lots of his money to help that church over the years

feb 13, 2002 a very sad day,  a station "hot country" station where i live fired a dj, for playing a solid hour of waylon, he now works at another station w/ highter ratings that plays nothing but classic country. but he did the right thing and in waylon style, said f**k the rules. thnx mark for your trubute that day
