This is Link's Awakening. The only way to get off the island is to Awake the Wind Fish who is inside that giant egg. I haven't beat it so I could be wrong.

Oh, I figured nintendo was going to remake Links awakening, though then again a fan made 3D version might be interesting to see, excellent colors, re-worked weapon selection, and if at all possible minor adjustments like an extra weapon button. *shrugs* just some ideas.

Project has been canceled. All this guy did was make 3d images, no programming was done. A very interesting concept but the developer had no idea how to program a game, he could just make 3d objects.

I hope Nintendo would not shut them down, I am still bitter about Square-Enix crushing that Chrono Trigger modification, Crimson Echos. Shame companies are against free modifications. They should be like Valve and embrace their fan base. I remember the days when developers encouraged people to make mods and distribute them.

Companies like id, 3d realms, valve, etc. used to release their engines/editors and let their game's fans go at it. I remember having no shortage of new material to play with in my PC days in the 90's early 2000s. Not sure about today, but I see a Hexen mod recently came out for Doom3. I remember when They Hunger got national recognition through PC Gamer and applauded by Valve.

@camar0corey wellllll, they shut down that guy doing a Link to the Past style of Ocarina of Time, and they shut down that MMO that had the Wind Waker style art, so if their track record stands as any kind of indicator of what we can expect then i fear this project will not last long. I would totally play this though!!! It's a pity Nintendo doesn't just incorporate these kinds of projects into their virtual console or something, like XBOX does with their independent games.

I felt that Ocarina of Time was more or less the 3D Link to the Past

-In OoT; you have to collect three gems. LttP; you collect three pendants.

- OoT; you go forwards 7 years

LttP; you go to the dark world

-OoT; You awaken the seven sages

LttP; You rescue the seven descendants

I just don't think there'd be much point. Besides, LttP was a quality game as it is.

I'd much rather see Link's Awakening done in 3D anyway. Think of the scenary. :)

the thing is in link's awakening in the dungeons the only thing separating the rooms is the perspective of the camera (you can only see one room at once) but now that it's is in 3-d wont it seem like you are i just one big room? how will you manage around that?

Sorta, the rooms will be visible (gives a sense of a more open world, especially in the overworld) but rooms you haven't entered will be blacked out, depending on frame rates we might restrict the visible rooms to the one you are in and the nine surrounding it, but that remains to be seen.
