@ruwithlee1970 I am right there with you. It was around 80 as the weather man says, but add the reflected heat from the black roof, the heat from the torches and just the physical exertion and it makes for a sweaty day.
@MrDirtrider777 I normally don't have anything to do with roofing... But do a lot of work for the owner of the building and he asked me to make sure it went smoothly.
Torch on rubberized membrane is better than the old tar and gravel less weight on the roof easier to repair, torch on is cheaper to install, no need for a tar kettle and the awfull tar smell. No hauling 10 yards or more of birdseye up onto the roof to spread around and protect the tar.
No I'am not a roofer just been around it I don't like heights LOL
@Graveltrucking Between the underlayment and top membrane, it is probably 1/2" of practically solid material. I never got a total weight dumped, but they removed six full dump trucks of old roofing material. Heights don't really bother me, it's falling that is always on my mind.
My god I wouldn't want to do that kind of work here in Houston ,Tx it was close to 110 deg yesterday not including the humidity ! Good luck!
