Yeah, WTF was that all about? Instead the DC got conversions of shit like 18 Wheeler and Ferrai F355 challenge (pretty, but not much fun to play). I really, REALLY can't understand why Sega didn't covert the games people actually wanted. You can also add Star Wars Trilogy arcade to the above list.
FYI, Outrun 2 for Xbox includes the circuits of Scud Race and Daytona USA 2. Daytona USA for the Dreamcast is very easy to find with Emule, and can be emulated perfecly with nullDC.
Yeah you did get the stages of Daytona 2 and Scud Race in Outrun 2. However they do no feel anything like the original games! And as far as Daytona 2 goes, the original "beginner" course was not included at all.
Yes that's true, but sadly the graphics in the Scud Race & Daytona USA 2 bonus tracks in Xbox Outrun2 are actually not as good as the MODEL 3 arcade versions from 1996 & 1998.
I mean they look decent, really good even, and they look much better than this Katana/Dreamcast tech demo, but still a downgrade from the arcade.
Sega needs to port the full Scud Race and Daytona USA 2 arcade games to Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and, if it can handle perfect ports, the Wii.
The ARC1A PowerVR chip from 1997 has only a small fraction of the Dreamcast's performance. The later "Set 4" kits had about 40% of the performance of the final Dreamcast. this being LESS than 40% and also lacks many of the features in the PowerVR2DC chip.
the Super GT / Scud Race demo looks pretty good, even though it is not of the same standard of the arcade version on MODEL 3 which ran at 60 frames per second.

Wow, this is very interesting. I wonder if there was ever plans to fully port Scud Race aka Sega GT to Dreamcast in the first place. Instead, we got a Gran Turismo-esque version hence Sega GT.
It was never released on Saturn. Maybe you mean Sega Touring Car Championship? Scud Race was considered too old to be released on Dreamcast when that was launched - I remember reading all about it at the time. Even during pre-launch hype, Scud Race was a couple of years old. As for whether or not the Dreamcast could have done it, its technical specifications surpass model 3 in some areas, so yes it would have been good.
There was a Sega Saturn version but it wasn't called scud racer/super sega gt.. but something like GT-24. Actually what I think the story is.. is there is a really rare and REALLY crappy Scud Racer Arcade clone.. called GT-24, not developed by Sega but released by them. and the saturn got a port of that. It looks exactly like Scud Racer but plays nothing like it. Google GT24 Saturn, i have the game, you can import it for like $1 because no one wants that pile of shit
but also GT24 (sega has 2 driving games with 24hours on title: super gt 24h & le mans 24h) from saturn was a different game far away from the sega ones.
I hope someday Sega Ages launch Scud Race and Daytona for consoles...

So do I but that would require Sega to show some intelligence so there is no chance.

Sega never seems to release the games we really want on consoles. I'm still waitng for virtua cop 3, after burner climax and house of the dead 4.

was Scud Racer (aka SUPER SEGA GT) ever released on Dreamcast? I thought only Arcade and a very bad version on Sega Saturn...

No. And I don't believe it's ever been released on the Saturn (a terrible shame, really).

No, GT24 is a totally different game. I played the emulated version of of GT24, and it's nothing like Scud Race.

No. No salio. La compre por ese juego, y al final no salio.
Podrian haberlo lanzado Arcade-Perfect.
