@NikoBomber I know it makes you think of all the wars we have entered , Lybia , Iraq and Afganistan all these wars were because of violent and dangerous dicators and terrorists and the many indivuals we have lost as a result of trying to find them and stop there disregard for life will never be forgotten.

@Timsalt3100 I was not mainly referring to the recent wars, the so-called peace keeping missions. Today's conflicts causes and meanings are a bit more complex and I think there is not enough space here to discuss them. Older ones were, as I said, a simple way for few greedy men to obtain wealth and power through the sacrifice of the (usually indoctrinated) young ones and the rest of the people. Think about Nazi Germany or African Warlords, Spanish Conquistadores or Xerxes of Persia etc. etc.

Back in the day you would start a game just to listen to its epic soundtrack all day long. After that you maybe you would start to consider playing the game.

Besides, if Jools, Jops and Stoo died you'd restart anyway to be able to listen to even more to the music that defined an era of games and gamers.

One of the most haunting tunes, ever. Looking back when I played this when I was younger, it never resonated as much... Now, it just makes me still and emotional. Classic. They don't make 'em like they used to...technological advances aside :)

Its amazing how a game with such little characterisation can create such a massive sence of loss in the player. This kind of attachment should be in more games.

Approach to the matter of the war in this game is still unique. Graphic in this game is comic (so as combat) but there's a suggestive death list, sarcastic recruitment screen (guys joining the army just under the graves of already dead G.I.'s) and it probably still hurt the player when he loses his soldiers a lot (at least I was very sad when I lost my guys in some missions).

This game is quite deep for a tactic shooter (or whatever this genre could be called :] )

You're totally right.. It was a fun and comic game as you put it. But subconsciously you feel sadness for the loss of your soldiers.. very strange but excellent game. More games should be like this i reckon :)

This is actually a horrible game, no matter how many comic relief's they put in. It's still refers to death in so many ways :(.

Great and superb game, the action was great (although near the end the difficulty was insane). But it also slapped reality in your face... Just meat for the grinder. The hill and the scrolling names always reminded you of that. Used to play this game when I was 6-7 years old... and even then I understood how senseless war is

For such a game that had a comedy feel to it, that graveyard and the slower sad music when new recruits came along always made ya feel gutted when you lost a troop. No modern game has come close to pulling my emotions at all apart from Heavy Rain which maybe my ultimate fav game ever!
