  • This is taking me back to my boyhood years, I remember the Depression and the Dirty 30s.

  • 90 years later and our employment lvl is roughly the same. Hovering around 20%.

Except this time the country is broke...so we can't buy...I mean "reform" our way out of it.

  • the more things change...

  • Awesome. Thanks for posting this song.

  • my grandfather, phil crow and his brother, frank luther crow sang with carson robinson in the 30's. i would love to know if they are on this recording.

  • Frank Luther is mentioned as being in this trio. Looks like you have famous ancestors!

  • Carson Robinson was certainly willing to have a bit of wild fun. Search for Hoagy Carmichael & His Orchestra - Barnacle Bill, The Sailor - Victor V-38139. A truly all star cast of musicians.

  • @66flatout This is difficult to believe! Frank Luther is one of my favorite vocalists of all time! I have been known to beg, borrow, or steal, if necessary, in order to acquire a new Frank Luther song. His is one of the most versatile voices I've ever heard. You certainly come from good musical stock. Your grandfather Phil wasn't bad, either!!!!

  • so topical still today more than ever.

  • thing's havn't change much, LOL !!!

  • I love this song! Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

  • this is a priceless piece of Great Depression history! thanks for posting
