I heard this on kid loco's 'another late night' mix cd a few years ago. Found it again the other day, and checked out all of AIM's stuff. Love it all, this track is an absolute gem.
@hdfjg Hey. Maybe listen to Before.. feat. QNC and buy that one song (my fav) and then Cold Water Music is a must, of course, maybe from the overall compostion the best. But Hinterland, Flight 602 or Means of Production are great aswell!
I've got a growing collection of music that anyone who likes this might enjoy. Check out my favorites on my channel and have a listen to some good stuff.
@FlightlessCoyote nice ima defly check your stuff out cuz i love this kinda stuff :) you should check out Doctor Flake. He's more dark triphop but its fuckin awesome. lemme know what you think eh! xx emilie
I rarely read the comments because of narrow minded individuals who talk fudge. But long story short, I saw yours and have since tried Doctor Flake. Thanks for the recommendation, I love finding good tunes out the blue
I think you are spot on. Although it does sound similar to 'Phat City', which would pay homage to the record shop in Manchester where Andy (Aim) first met Mark Rae (of Rae & Christian) whilst shopping for new music. I think he still shops there and DJ's with those guys at the Friends and Family gigs in Manchester from time to time!
@joshurking I've always thought it was "We hit Fat Cities, make the sound worldwide for the people who cry to hear something new" because Grand Central Records was connected to Fat City. This was their vinyl outlet (a few doors down from the GC HQ) in Manchester where they sold all of their sounds plus had artists dropping in to demo their stuff. I believe Andy Turner (AIM) did exactly that and got picked up by the label.
i love how chill and relaxing his songs are. i first heard this song off the CD "Mellow hip-hop sessions" and i am so glad i heard of Aim. i love his music
...or Aim found me, rather !
