  • question , you know how to wire up my aura shaker , say i use my home theater subwoffer .. It has in's n out's for wire's !! But IDK how to make it work . when I hook a speaker to the out input on the back on the Sub I hear notthing ? Would I have to wire it to my AVR Reciver ?

  • @MrPopyotop Aura Shaker is apparently meant to be used in a car? In that case you will need an amplifier to run it. Your subwoofer's outputs are for pass through only so it won't give any power out (they rob the signat from say front speakers if you don't have RCA-out for a sub in your AVR). If your AVR has a powered subwoofer channel, use that. If not you will have to buy a subwoofer amp for it

  • @sotajumalaa

    Ok Thank You !!!

  • @MrPopyotop No problem, glad to be of assistance ^^

  • The problem is finding an AC to DC converter that puts out 100amps or more, or getting 2 equal cheap ones and putting them in parallel. Gona cost a few bucks either way

  • Pendulum. Fuck yes.

  • People... using transformed power supply for a car amplifier, which transforms it again to its voltage supply isnt too healthy...

  • PENDULUM!!!

  • hey nice video! id like to set up a system at home using car components.... is there any loger and more detailed guide i can follow? thx

  • read the description, theres more info on the subject

  • I had luck with powering up the power supply first and then connecting remote. If it started up with remote connected, the power supply would not fully turn on :)

  • that taught me nothing you stupid cocksucker. goddamn you are dumb.

  • well it's good that YOU are so smart that you apparently CAN READ THE DESCRIPTION. thank you for posting this relevant comment that will help those who can read the description. and btw I'm not a cocksucker, I'll leave that to you. I'll stick with women

  • ahhahaha :) nice reply :)

  • I'll leave that to you. xDDDDDD

  • kiitz

  • awh man you picked the best track ever to demo it. . . i LOVE pendulum!!!

  • what power psu do you need? would one with 22A on the 12V be powerful enough for a 500w max amp?

  • that depend on your amps ampere rating, that you can see easilly from your amps fuses.

match that with PSU's +12V amperage and youll do fine (if playing at full volume). you can manage with less amperage though if yr not playing at full volume. you should test if it's loud enough by connecting PSU to amp and up the volume until PSU turns off automatically (safety measure on PS to prevent component failure), if this is not loud enough you need more powerful psu.

  • yes.... since 500max means 250rms or less... also look at the fuse you have in the amp.... if fuse say 20amp your not pulling more then that ... so you should be good

  • this video gave me absolutely no useful information on how to hook car audio into home audio I'm sorry but all it did was try to show me how cool some else was for accomplishing the task that i don't even know how to do....yet, until some DOES post a useful video

  • instructions are in the info tab.

but I am sincerelly sorry if this video doesn't meet your requirements :)

  • oh sorry :( i didn't mean to get mad i didn't even see the description my bad dude

  • powered home sub = $200

    Alpine sub $180 + $50 enclosure + needed 1000W (or More) power supply $180 + $150 800w amp + mad distortion = $560

Blown amp, sub, and power supply = priceless

  • i didn't care if it blew up or not. but during 6 months nothing broke! and there wasn't distortion, that mobilephones shitty microphone just distorted like hell.

    and I paid for these parts= PSU $15 + amp $50 + alpine sub incl enclosure $50.

so I paid $115 for this sub which gave me more pressure that $400 powered home sub. of course I chose this way.

  • hi i have a kenwood car head unit with one red wire(+) and a black wire(-) and a yellow ignition wire(+), on the psu what wire do i connect to what? i have 4 wires coming out of the psu, red, black, yellow and another yellow. Do i connect the black wire(-) coming out of the head unit to the black wire on the psu? and the red and yellow wire(+) coming out of the head unit to one of the yellow wires coming out of the psu?

all replies will b e much appreciated

    Thanks in advance.

  • thats strange, because your PSU should have two black wires (one -5v and another -12v) then you should have yellow (+12v) and red (+5v) cables. black wire next to the yellow is -12v.

you should connect +12v and -12v to your amp accordingly and make "jump lead" from +12v to your amps remote/ignition. you must also make "jump wire" to your PSUs mobo wiring so that it stays always on. that way you can control your amps power by PSUs power switch.

  • Why shouldn't i use multirail supplies.Cuz i'm gonna get one with 4 12v rails.

  • because your setup will only drain power from one rail and it's power output is inferior in that case compared to singlerail psu. multiple rails also can not be connected together on most cases because the psu tries to regulate all rails' voltage output independently --> no good

  • sure it works really well but you need to pay attention to something

if you are using the silver stereo with this sub, most likely your stereo or amp will eventually burn out because if the audio coming to the amp is a powered output at 8 ohms going into this 4 ohm setup it just causes chaos so watch out man

great vid though, i want to get a bandpass in my room eventually for my home theaters sub

  • it's not powered output, just normal rca subwoofer output. should be fine :D though this setup is long gone because of many reasons, mostly because i needed the box+amp to my car

  • Would it be possible to power a bigger amp using this technique with say 5 PSU's?

    Great Idea btw

  • Nice, how long can you run the system, without any overheating issues ?

  • there were no overheating at all! I could listen to hours without any problems. Actually there never was any problems during the year I used this setup. I have sold this sub already and the new one has moved to my car.

  • thats crazy dude

  • thanks. this video makes no justice to the real SPL and SQL because of shitty camera+mike :D

  • THATS FREAKING AWESOME DUDE

  • i have a car amp running on a modded pc power supply its 200w using the 12v line only pulling

less than 11v its 1600w 4ch hifi amp running fine

  • "How to use car sub and amp in home" is the title of this video.

Can someone show me where the "How to use" is in the video?

  • read the description on the video and stop whining

  • is there a different way other than using a PC power supply

cuz im still 16 (no car)

but i like bass so is there?

  • may be but this is the easiest way I know (and so far the only one other than using car battery and charger)

  • oh darn sucks man home subwoofers suck compared to car subs

  • there is another way.. use a car battery

(watch my newest vid i just uploaded, it shows how to connect up deck, amp, sub, neon and capacitor)

  • "may be but this is the easiest way I know (and so far the only one other than using car battery and charger)" as I said you can use car battery also

  • what is the name of that 1st song? thanx

  • Pendulum - Slam

can be found in "Hold your Colour" and "Greatest Hits" albums

  • wouldn't a car battery run oout quickly?

idk bout you but i would love to hav something reliable

are there power inverters that work in a backwards way to the one u use for home devices in a car

    or can u mod one?

  • and the PC power thing sounds like it would be messy

looks are one thing too lol

  • it's not messy at all. it is really easy and reliable. i have had this cheap psu for like 6 months now and still working fine. and of course you can modify your psu to look like what ever you want, even another amp (just buy broken amp and put psu inside. needs some skills though)

  • mate im 16 aswell lol

woot woot look at my latest vids

ive got a 12v sla battery hoping 2 upgrade to a car battery but ive got a head unit run by a small computer power supply its pretty safe if u know what to do. there is plentey of tuts on youtube my bro is really good with electronics and wired our system (including fixing da power just ,pm him i think his name on youtube is ABEIQ.

  • if your running it through your amp how are you getting power through it? where are you hooking up your power supply? or do you not need it?

  • I'm sorry if I have been un-understandable, here is how my system is set up:

-homestereo has subwoofer out (rca pre out)

    ->rca cable to car amplifier

-pc powersupplys 12v wires are connected to car amps plus and minus

-finally the sub itself is connected to car amp and is wired so it has 4ohms load (amp was not 1ohm stable as it should have been)

  • that song is on motorstorm for ps3 lol

  • where u connected rca cabels?

  • my homestereo has subwoofer out so i have connected it there. other end of the cable obviously goes to amp.

I have also tried to hook this up on my pc and it works as well. Then you must control volume from pc or amp itself. my homestereo controls volume via subwoofer out so no fiddling there.

  • most amps, requiring more than a hundred amps ovf current only do so for short periods of time like i said with a 1 farad cap and a battery with a 540A dumping current will quite happily run all day with this power supply not many car alternators go beyond 70 amps,,,yes i know and have fitted the likes of the BOSH190 BUT,you didnt specify how much power you wanted,i have built power supplys with dumping currents up to 2KA, but there not cheap

  • IF YOU REQUIRE HIGH CURRENT AT LOW VOLTAGE that is 13.8V at 60A look on ebay for ameture radio power supplies couple this with a lead acid gell battery ,dont forget fuses and possibly a 1 farad capacitor, and Roberts your fathers brother,,any car systems will run perfectly at 14.4V this is the maximum for safe use with a battery.

  • 60A is not enough on high power amps. some of them require even 100A, so that 60A ain't looking so good.

buy SilverStone OP1000 powersupply if you need lots of power!

  • i was just wondering..im not very good at this stuff but i have 2 rockford 15 hx2"yes i know old school haha" and a rockford 1000S amp. i was wondering. what kind of power supply would i need to get and where would i get it? any help would be grateful please

  • yeah over 1000 views already!

  • D00d! I'm a huge pendulum fan! lOVe that slam track! and i'm planin on using a camouflaged lighted dual 10" bandpass enclosure for my rig!...dope, absolutely wicked man!

  • thanks :D

  • My new vid is out. check it out. Not too good quality, but better than this.

  • how u power the amp?

  • I have 550W computer power supply, which gives 30amperes to 12v. It's quite enough for high SPL with my setup, but if you have some monstrous amp you should get power supply that gives more amperes. Look at your amps fuses and get power supply that gives as much to 12v. remember not to buy multirail power supplys, single rail is the only working for this application

  • battrey =]

  • battery needs charging and is too big to use in my system so it's out of question. and batteries release poisonous fumes when charged (not all but normal car batteries should)

  • XBLÖD IS BETTER!!!!!

  • Tell me about it! That SQL and SPL are so adorable :D I want ten of those!!!!!11

  • My room is very dark because I watch movies here etc. So had to use that light to see anything at all with that cellphone cam, it doesn't like "yellow" light (from light bulbs) so much

  • use a blue spectrum fluorescent bulb

  • well let's not argue about lighting :D

I may shoot a new video in daylight if I can get this room bright enough. When I start building new box for my sub, I'll definitely make a vid with before/after material with hopefully better camera.

  • ok sounds good

  • Oops I managed to accidentally remove your first post. Sorry

  • thats ok man
