The driver here is Chris Goodwin, chief test driver for McLaren Automotive, who is fully involved with the development of the MP4-12c.
You don't have to look at the lines to know it's not the STIG. Just look at the TopGear video and compare the size of the drivers. It is clear that Goodwin is so much smaller than the STIG. The STIG's shoulders almost reach the corner of the seat whereas Goodwin is a number of inches lower.

Clarkson is a mug. He is stupid enough to call this a pair of tights next to the ferarri 458' s stockings.
Id but this over the ferarri because the money will stay here in the UK.
Id also be happy that it rinses the ferarri round the track.
