it used to be opposite miami vice, playing at the same time, and miami vice for the first couple years slaughtered it in the ratings, and then moonlightings superior acting and writing shone through, and people left miami vice alone.

thats why if you watch all the seasons there are quite a few gags about miami vice in there

I loved that show. So good for the first few years. Some of my favorites are "Atomic Shakespere", "Cool Hand Dave" and "A Womb With a View". I don't think they really make TV like this anymore, and if they did, it would get cancelled because it's not simple enough for people to digest easily.
