If someone has passed on their knowledge to you as to what is the correct thing to do then having that knowledge, we are all responsible for our own actions. Cover you head or not, the meaning and reasoning has been explained and we cannot say to God that we didnt know or understand
Covering your head is required when you are inside a GURDWARA. The head represents the human ego, and when you cover your head, you are covering your ego.
head represents ego but, to represent some thing is just a symbol... If you do simran outside the gurudwara i dont think its necessary to cover it, since symbolism is no more important if heart is clean
Yes, I agree with you that what is truly significant is on the inside, not the outside.
However, the Sikh dharma is very technologically advanced, the act of covering one's head has a real significance. When one covers the head, he/she covers the hair, maintaining the static electricity of the hair in one location, and preventing that static electricity or vibrations from entering or leaving. It keeps you contained.
yes...it could be truth but...in my case, if i am wearing a chunni i am so worried about the chunni falling that i lose concentration in simran or gurudwara, and also, if i am wearing like a parna or patka or something i also lose concentration because my head starts itshing...so sometimes i think does it really matter? if my kesh is a gift from the guru and its a beautiful thing from creation and myself?
