  • great tutorials!

  • lol his phone vibrated at 11:04

  • How do I mirror the seams so that they are the same on both sides and how do I make the seams so I don't have to select them one by one.

  • @IceyHedgehogTV the seams mirror themselves when you have the mirror modifier on

  • I can only make seams on one side how do I mirror it?

  • i lov your videos :) but ony i miss somethink like i se when u prees button, there are program to showing buttons but i dont now names

  • Dave, your models always end up looking like you

  • hey Ward, do u have a website that u use? or do u do all of ur teachings from youtube?

  • ok so ur telling us how to seam but ur not what button do you press to select the seams ??

  • You make blender look easy...

  • how do u select loops? sorry i didnt want to wacth the whole series. great tuts btw

  • Fingerless gloves!

  • do u only work with meshes or do u code or make mods/hakcks?

  • how do you select full loops?

  • Ward I like your detail in your tutorials. I think when I started watching your videos is when I started understanding blender and 3d animation in general.

I have a question. Is there a way to add subsurf to only a certain part of a mesh. If so please tell me or point me to a tutorial. I'm sorry if you have already said that in a tutorial but there are just so many hours of tutorials it would take a long time to find. Please answer.

  • @SpecialFxKid not that i'm aware of; if you want something like that, it's probably best to just separate those parts and have two different meshes.

  • @ward7299 could I join them together once I did that and it wouldn't make all of it have subsurf?

  • @ward7299 THEY ARE CALLED HOBO GLOVES GODDAMN!!!

  • @SpecialFxKid hey, not sure if u already found the answer to ur question already. but, there is a way u can do it. u turn on subsurf on the mesh, then select everything else, and use the option, Edge > ' Edge Crease. '

i use it all the time in my work, and it should be just the answer u're looking for ^_^

  • @SpecialFxKid If you are wanting only certain parts of the mesh to be smoothed by the sub-serf, you can select the entire mesh, hit Shift + E and that will allow you to crease the edges back out. Then just select the parts you want smoothed and do Shift + E again to un-crease them.

  • @DKCGamerGirl Thanks.

  • ok, so i finished the tongue, but now, lol, im working on the side of the body, and extrude keeps taking over when i press control e, lol my cpu is not the fastest... lol

  • why lol do u say lol evrey lol second lol?

  • augh! i cant navigate when im inside his head! i think i got the ring on the tongue marked, but im still working on the seam that goes down the middle lol

  • this isent do hard for me thanks now i known how i can make cloths to my ugly body

  • hey there, nice tutorial, but only one question, what about the seams for the eyes?

  • I do the same thing :P

  • @buntpan lol i do the same thing

  • I'm having so much trouble even getting the eye starte!

  • Strate?

  • lol you know what I meant! Haha I meant to say started...btw you quoted me wrong

  • Oh:P No I didn't because I read it wrong I thought you might mean straight:P Sorry^^

  • XD np in any case I'm still no good at this

  • a quick way of getting rid of a loop is to select the loop you want and press x > edge loop works really nicely

  • your tutorials are perfect man, so complete. i love how when you do a little thing (even if you've done it a million times in the video) you say the shortcut outloud. For example, "i'm going to extrude, "e."

Ctrl+R I found in this video (lol)...seriously saved me so much subdividing/removing of triangles.

However, I am curious, how do you select a series of edges along a path when you're making a seam? Like when you were selecting edges on the finger.

  • thank you :) to select a loop, hold down "alt" when you click, and then if you want to select more than one loop, you hold down "shift + alt"

  • what can you do whit mark seams?? i just don't understand.

  • keep watching; the seams are for UV mapping, so you can create a nice texture image and apply it to your model.

  • U would have to be the best animator i have seen so far so cool man

  • WHy can you upload so long video's ???

  • i'm a youtube partner

  • what means that??> do you pay for it???

  • no, i just got an email one day that said "congratulations, you're now a youtube partner" or something. I assume it has something to do with the number of subscribers i have, or maybe my total channel views. i dunno

  • Instead of scaling up the outer parts of the accessories, wouldn't it be easier to use shrink/ fatten (alt + s), so that you don't have to worry about lining it up again? (I hope that made any sense)

    Nice tutorials! =D

  • yes, that would be easier :D however, i didn't know about that keyboard shortcut, so you've taught ME something :D thanks! the student has become the teacher. the circle is now complete :D

  • Haha, alright then xD I remember when I first found it (by accident). A whole new world opened up to me. =P

Glad I could help and I'm looking forward to watching the rest of your tutorials =)

  • wow, 355 views on ur first day, thats how you know ur good

  • thank you for the great videos, i was waiting patiently on each addition

    again, thanks
